This year’s Wine Fiesta shines the spotlight on body-types. By tagging wines according to whether they are light, medium or full-bodied, it will be simple to search for and taste our favourite types of wine when faced with unfamiliar label or wine varietal. Because knowing a wine’s body can help you pick a bottle based on what you’ve enjoyed before, and you could try similar styles from many regions.

So glad the guys from Shangri-la jioed me to pop over after dinner!

You would have heard of W Hotel - they're about luxury, style and sophistication. And this extends to Woobar, their lounge bar at the lobby level. It's modern and snazzy, yet right outside the full length windows were views of calming lush greenery.

And they serve funky looking drinks. Like, really funky. You have the "Bubble Bath" which came in the form of bath tub complete with bubbles and "bath salt" that pops in your mouth; the "Red Dot" served in a skull, the "Bacon Fashionable" served in a mini milk carton containing a slice of real bak kwa all soaked with Burbon.

Pictured is the Overflow, containing bourbon, orange liqueur, champagne, and bitters. It started with the bartender pouring alcohol over a ball of cotton candy (swipe for pic), and ended with this where the drink cycled through the colours.... and I forgot everything in between, i had already drank too much before this 😁.

There's also the "Last Call" priced at $450. You would never guess what this drink came with :)

Nude Chill has just opened at Marina One, with its classy presence right beside Nude Grill. Two concepts sharing the same space, by the guys behind Nude Seafood at MBFC.

The interior was classy with its dim lights, but atmosphere was relaxed with the friendly servers and warm hospitality of owner Junchen who was all over the bar and restaurant serving food and making sure everyone was happy.

At Chill, mixologist Andy served us this "No Idea" (feel free to ask him for the story behind the name!), which is somewhat like a pina colada but without the cream. It smells of coconut, but tastes like pineapple. Suits people who like their cocktails to be sweet and light.

Nice chill place near my office, especially for Friday drinks.

Spellbinding. Japanese award-winning mixologist Misaki Ishimura was at Kabuke for one night, and we were lucky to be there to watch him perform his art in this cocktail ceremony with effortless grace. I conclude, he's a master in the arcane mysteries.

This refreshing and sweet sangria consists of white wine, sake, yuzu sake, triple sec (orange liquor), syrup and fresh sliced fruits. Soda is served separately in a bottle on the side to add the festive fizz to the drink, and we could decide how concentrated we want out sangria to be.

That's a can of Dester 100% Malt that @shermyyy pulled out from a jacuzzi filled with LOTS of beer. This extravagance is fitting for the occasion, because it was a celebration on the Dester Yacht.

This is one excellent sake. It has a 35% polishing ratio, which means that 65% of the rice had been polished away. I really liked how smooth this is, and that floral fragrance coming from it.

And don't forget the yakitori, which was skewered using binchotan charcoal and Szechuan spices. They're really enjoyable over sake or their infused cocktails crafted by award winning bartender Sam Wong.
