Chicken Rice πππΆοΈ
Chicken thigh meat is pretty tender but not my cup of tea. My friends liked it. The rice was flavourful, like how chicken rice should be. The chilli was great! The brown one was made of hoisin sauce (I think), ginger and green chilli -- this was great too! For the price, it's worth a try! I do wanna go back for the noodles since they're pretty affordable, too.
From the stall "Jew Kit Hainanese Chicken Rice", they have a selection of different sets with egg and tofu and other things. This was just the roasted chicken rice at $3.80, which is slightly more expensive than normal food court chicken rice, and I had added soy sauce on top. The chilli and ginger were both good while the chicken was nice and tender.
At $3, which is around the usual chicken rice price, this was rather decent but nothing extraordinary. The chilli was surprisingly spicy and I loved that, but it could have been more balanced.
I was adding some soy sauce but accidentally spilled A LOT of it. The chilli additional was intentional LOL. I like it spicy. But this still wasn't.
The rice was PLAIN RICE. Not chicken rice rice. The chicken was definitely good. The chilli was okay. Not the best. I guess the people who gave them the Michelin star gave it only because of the chicken?
I was disappointed. I tried the Chan restaurant, too. Same issues with the rice and chilli.
But still, for $2, worth it! There was a queue when we went at around 2 but it took like 10-15 minutes only. The stall aunty was a bit odd, but don't mind her haha
