Go for the Double Roast ($24 for 350g), consisting of Char’s signature melt-in-your-mouth Special Char Siew and Roast Crispy Pork Belly. While these are not applicable for 1-for-1, you CAN double up on the flavourful Hong Kong Style Stir-fried Mian Xian ($11.80) and Beef Hor Fun ($12) for staples.

Trust the Burpple community and go for the Jam & Eggs ($15), consisting of house-made bacon jam, an oozy fried egg and smoky, char-grilled pork patties topped with crunchy egg fritters. A side of the Fried Eggplant ($7) is a good idea as well.

Hidden above The Refinery, this cocktail bar is perfect for a wacky yet romantic date night. Start with something to eat. Must-orders include the One Night in Tom Yum ($20) with cold tom yum consommé inaniwa udon and crab meat, as well as the the crispy Duck Confit Penyet ($20) with kecap manis. On cocktails, the spiked Cheng Teng Gao ($18) is a comforting yet quirky treat.

Get ready for a dim sum party! The Steamed Charcoal Chicken & Shrimp Dumpling ($4 per basket of three) is an unconventional order, but the chunky shrimps, crunchy roe and soft charcoal skin in this dish should not be missed. Be sure to get the deliciously crispy Mee Sua Kueh ($3.60 for three) as well, stuffed with Chinese sausage and dried shrimps.
