Couldn't really taste the earl grey, but there was the distinct floral lavender fragrance that wasn't too artificial and perfume-y. The cake was also lower on the sweetness level which i enjoyed. A rather light and enjoyable dessert to have 😊

Don't bother with this if you are looking for a matcha dessert, because there was no matcha taste to speak of hahaha😹 Instead, I liked this for the brown sugar boba, which had a nice, chewy consistency and paired well with the rich, milky softserve.

Even if you don't manage to queue for @gram_pancakes_singapore 's Premium Pancakes, you should still give their other offerings a shot! Been quite awhile since I first queued for their Premium Pancakes when they first opened and I wonder if the queue's still going strong for their Premium Pancakes , which are available at only 3 timeslots per day and in batches of 30 servings each time🤔😹 Dense with a slightly sticky/mochi-like texture. If you love your pancakes light and fluffy, these aren't for you 😹
Generous dusting of cocoa powder lent a much needed bitterness to balance out the sweetness of the cream, which was surprisingly not too heavy on its own- good because the pancakes themselves were quite dense, making this a rather filling dessert to have after a meal so you would want to grab a few friends to share this with!

Had such a hard time deciding between the different tarts available (differing in the choice of fresh fruit toppings such as strawberries, blueberries and figs) eventually settling with the classic pairing of fresh tangy strawberries to balance the sweet and smooth pastry cream.

Black and White; a supposedly aesthetic and faultless combination but I couldn't help but feel that the white flecks were distractingly "extra" Perhaps my next petition would be for @matchayasg to make some tweaks to the appearance of this cake haha😅😝 Otherwise, i really enjoyed the crepe cake. Fragrant black sesame-infused cream between the artfully thin crepe cake layers. Top layer tasted like white chocolate. The crepe cake was really aromatic, but the black sesame fragrance wasn’t too overwhelming so you won’t get jelat (though i could definitely do with a greater intensity too) , and also not too sweet. This is one cake that i could easily polish off by myself even after a heavier meal.

I enjoyed the top layer of the cake most, because of the matcha powder dusting and also the thin, waxy layer of matcha chocolate. When consumed together, the strong bittersweet aroma of the coffee definitely took the lead though. If I had this blindfolded, I would probably have difficulty identifying the incorporation of matcha.
The cake was also too dry and coarse for my liking, made better by the cream, but i didn’t really enjoy the cream as it was a tad heavy. Loved the chokoreto on top though, so dense, fudgey and chocolatey.

In celebration of Singapore's 54th birthday, @butterknifefolk has come up with a whole range of interesting flavours✨ .

The flavours are interesting in the way that you wouldn't usually see them in ice cream form, such as laksa, chilli crab, chicken rice, muah chee etc, but the names pretty much speak for themselves 😹

I was pretty sh00ked especially when i tried the chicken rice because... was i eating dessert or a legit meal??🤔 .

As much as i enjoyed the novelty of sampling the different flavours, i eventually settled for the less adventurous Gula Melaka Pandan Cake, which had generous bits of fluffy pandan chiffon rolled within the gula melaka flavoured ice cream. I loved how the ice cream wasn't too sweet for me😊

✨ NEW ✨Matcha Blackcurrant Tart ($7.80) available exclusively at @hvala_sg 's CHIJMES outlet!
The pinkish cream features a blend of blackcurrant and raspberry, which lends the tart a sourish punch. Wasn't really a fan of it though, perhaps because I've never really like raspberries. Also felt that the matcha flavour was lost; if I was ignorant and my eyes masked, wouldn't have been able to detect the matcha for sure😅 Great for those looking for something not too matcha-y and sweet

By far one of my favourite pastry at the newly revamped @matchayasg 😊Quite a fair bit of cream involved, which i guess is needed in order for the purple sweet potato taste to be more prominent due to the natural subtlety of its taste. Makes this a heavier dessert to have, hence recommended to share, though i gladly polished it off myself 🙂 .

Because of the sweetness from the cream, I'm glad that the tart pastry itself isn't the very sweet kind. Thought for a moment that the yellowish paste was made of yellow sweet potato but its actually almond cream haha😅

Overall the sweet potato flavour was quite distinct for me, though i feel that perhaps they could go easier on the use of almond cream which was a rather thick layer and the taste was quite strong

Unbearably hot weather nowadays is perfect for some ice cream 😋 As alluded by its name, this includes your choice of 3 softserves from matcha/houjicha/goma/hokkaido milk. Perfect for the indecisive, or for the greedy pigs like me who want it all (except for the hokkaido milk😅) The houjicha is replaced by genmaicha for ours, as the houjicha is sadly out of stock. The genmaicha was surprisingly good though. They should keep it as a permanent softserve flavour on their menu! But then i'll need a 4-flavour bowl instead of just 3 😝😅😊😋

I truly enjoyed this cheesecake, which had a nice balance of cheesiness and fragrance of tea, the 2 flavours welding together in harmony to create a palatable dessert. Utilising both matcha and genmaicha, I especially enjoyed the genmaicha part, for the stronger toasty fragrance that it lent to the cheesecake. Texture-wise, the cheesecake was firm yet slightly bouncy and moist, the crumbly graham (?) base providing some sort of texturous contrast and also a slight salty flavour.

Smooth, creamy and filled with the fragrance of the durian fruit. Tasted like your regular durian ice cream except that its vegan!
