Wildfire's hype may be for their burgers but my favourite was actually the 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻  ($4.50/1pc, $12/3pc).
-
These golden skinned babies were 🔥. Beneath their thin but gratuitously crispy skin was glorious marinade that was delightfully sweet and well-rounded with spice flavours.
-
Scandalously juicy with succulent slivers easily torn off the bone. Not to mention ear candy from the skin shattering. It even stayed crispy after a good 15 minutes. 🤪

The 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗯𝘂 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿 ($13) was a quirky concept well executed. How often do you say that about fusion burgers?
-
Impressed by the slices of angus beef which were blessed with silky scores of fat embedded into their tender fibres, even if they were mildly chewy at parts. Great textural interplay of tender meat, crunchy onions, bouncy mushrooms — warmly hugged by pillowy brioche buns.
-
Yakiniku sauce provided a sweet umami that was vibrant but not cloying. It was complemented flawlessly by mushroom earthiness, then punctuated with onion sharpness for balance.

I shy away from whites because they tend to be boring an taste the same almost everywhere. At @tionghoespecialtycoffee though, I never fail to order their 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 ($4.50).
-
I never tire of that angelically soft body which refrained from being excessively creamy. Charming fragrance and robustness to its body whilst still teasing with a background sweetness. Above all, it was strikingly memorable with a beautiful finish that lingered, reminiscent of gula melaka.
-
The quaint atmosphere and friendly staff make this rustic piece of heaven worth the pilgrimage to its ulu Queenstown estate.

Looking to satiate your sweet tooth? Then you donut wanna miss this. @haritts_singapore's 𝗣𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗼 ($2.90) hit all the right notes. 🍩🍩🍩
-
So bouncy that my teeth felt a light recoil before they sunk into the fluffy innards. Digging deeper, you'd be greeted by a gush 💦 of fragrant and rich pistachio. Not too sweet, not too nutty — no gimmicks, simply divine. ✨

Catch the 𝘂𝗻𝗶 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 ($32 + $16 to upsize) before the impending 21st September menu change too, because @winervlt truly has a knack for unique pastas.
-
A blissfully creamy dish featuring toothsome strands of pasta slickly coated in a rich sauce. Strikingly awashed with tasteful seafood brininess, whilst subtly tinged with sweet uni notes.
-
An umami profile every bit as intoxicating as the great wine I was sipping on. Chased with a swig of spiritedly fruity adult juice — heavenly.

There's something to be said about timeless classics. And their 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘁 ($30) is a true banger. I've been here thrice just for this, and it's facing impending doom with their upcoming menu change on 21st September so grab this while you can!
-
A simple but effective ensemble — dreamily rich gribiche sauce, sweet tangy ketchup, and a westholme wagyu patty bursting with umami. All encased within buttery milk bread buns that shattered thunderously. Music to my ears.
-
Facets of flavours weaved in and out on the palate, akin to bows deftly slicing against violin strings to a ferverous concerto of Vivaldi. Fiercely and urgently, it crescendoed into an intense rouse of decadence.

Such as this bunon kara-age ($15) which looked very plain, but was honestly one of the karage I've had in a while. The airy shell crackled gratuitously to reveal extremely juicy and tender meat tinged with a pleasantly sweet marinate.
-
Very flavourful, and the brittle citric hit of the lemon squeeze accentuated those flavours quite beautifully. Which also means pairing it as drinking grub would provide some nice flavour reactions.

Wine is often perceived for being  “bougie”, lest you plan to get smashed on cheap supermarket wine. Some don’t agree with that idea. Wine RVLT in particular, who operate with endearing conviction to providing wine with no elitism attached.

Wine selection is pretty diverse, with some really intriguing finds like this Astro Bunny Pét-Nat ($105) from Master of Wine Tim Wildman.

Essentially proto-sparkling wine, it excited with a funky fizziness and mild yeastiness. With its sharp and spirited fruit notes — most predominantly grapefruit — it danced around like a cider but with more complexity. Super fun to drink.

Randomly chanced upon this old school establishment, and I was pleasantly surprised!
-
The 𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 ($4) was fluffy, moist and bathed in a rich and charmingly sweet herbal sauce. 🦆Meat was decently tender and not gamey at all. Tying it together was a tangy-sweet chili that was a match made in heaven with that rich herbal profile.
-
Overall pretty good, and comparable to Chuan Kee IMO. Would return for dine in some time.🙋🏻‍♂️

There are days when you just crave for the simple things in life. @bakerybrera's 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 ($3.50) is a nice companion for those lazy mornings snuggled in bed with a good book.
-
Maybe not crazy crispy or buttery but it's a charmingly safe choice that wasn't over-indulgent when you just want simplicity. Delightful treat with a gentle buttery fragrance and light flaky crust. Slightly doughy but fluffy enough to remind you of the comfy bed covers you're lying on.

In comparison to the hojicha version, I found the original burnt cheesecake rather forgettable.
-
A good controlled dose of sweetness but perhaps lacking a bit in character. The texture is similar to the hojicha one, so whilst still enjoyable I would ride a few more stops on the Circle Line to The Kins' for my burnt cheesecake cravings instead.

Hopped on the @bakerybrera hype train. Ye boi basic. But this 𝗵𝗼𝗷𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 ($8.50) turned out the good kind of basic — wholesomely bittersweet, like my generic Joji playlists. 🥵🤟🏻
-
The smooth creamy core was slightly denser so whilst it coated the tongue nicely, it didn't quite melt in the mouth. Its beauty was in the elegantly balanced richness, with a pleasant dosage of earthy tea fragrance layered snuggly under light sweetness.
-
Good enough for a return trip, compared other kinda supbar bakeries. Admittedly didn't live up to hype, though am I truly living the millennial life if I don't waste my time chasing pointless trends? 🤡✨
