Mercat’s greasy, meaty Catalan Breakfast (RM29) comes loaded with Spanish bacon, York ham, two eggs and Catalan white beans, and it might just be the cure to beat that hangover. Pile on more sides of chorizo (RM9) or jamon cocido (RM9) – you won’t regret the extra meat. Brunch is available every day till 4pm at this Bangsar outlet, which means you can sleep in and still get to enjoy this scrumptious plate.

This airy and gorgeous space along Jalan Kemuja boasts a menu of foolproof brunch dishes. Go with the Eggs Benedict (RM22) with extra streaky beef bacon (RM6) for a no-fail, tasty meal – expect perfectly poached eggs and well-seasoned hollandaise sauce. For something sweet, the French Toast (RM22) with flambéed bananas is a winner. On Sundays, the cafe hosts a brunch buffet (RM55) with a solid spread including eggs, breads and sausages – come with an empty belly!

Even mom would approve of the homely, healthy brunch eats at Marmalade, from a Big Fry Up (RM33) with lots of greens to the vegetarian-friendly Corn & Zucchini Fritters (RM31) and the fruity Berry Bliss (RM21) smoothie bowl — order them all to share with the fam. The little ones can get in on the brunch fun too, with delish bites like the Baked Mac & Cheese (RM22). Weekends are reason enough to indulge a little, so end your meal with a slice of housemade Carrot Cake (RM17).

Bangsar's latest cafe stands out for its modern take on brunch favourites. Take the popular Avocado Smash (RM24.50), which sees homemade guacamole paired with feta cheese, roasted cherry tomatoes and cider beetroot puree — what a harmonious blend of fresh flavours! Bring along a brunch buddy to enjoy their signature Urban’s Really Big Breakfast (RM33.50) that’s good for two (or a very hungry one, no judgement here). Pro tip: The cafe gets super busy during peak hours, so swing by in the late afternoon for better service and a more relaxed meal.

Nestled in Bangsar Shopping Centre is one of KL’s most notable spots for dim sum. The large restaurant is ideal for big family meals — the variety of steaming baskets is impressive and service is efficient. Fill the table with their most loved items including the 'Siew Mai' (RM9.80), Imperial 'Har Kau' (RM10.80) and 'Cheong Fun' with Prawns (RM11.80). For larger plates, look to the lardy Hokkien-style Fried Noodles (RM28), which Burppler XinYi Tan’s suggests having with the side of sambal for more oomph. Pro tip: There's typically a queue here on weekends, so it's best to make a reservation to skip the lines.

It’s been two years since this Aussie cafe opened in KL, and they’re still pulling in the crowds, especially on weekends. Asian-Western flavours reign supreme, like in the French Lady (RM26) that melds raspberry cream, coconut jam and black sesame paste atop fluffy brioche toast. Meat eaters, dive straight for the bestselling Mr. Terry Benedict (RM29) featuring uber tender 24-hour braised beef. Don’t miss out on a good pick-me-up either — the Magic (RM11) is a smooth drink of double ristretto topped with milk.

Pen this cheery cafe down for your next birthday bash. Here's why: it’s spacious, the floral table decorations are ideal aesthetics for that Insta-worthy flatlay, and the menu has something for all. Go with the Breakfast Board, which allows you to build your own platter with a minimum of five items (from RM6 each), from eggs to turkey ham and baked beans. We also love that there are healthy options, such as fresh fruit and yoghurt. If you're a fan of waffles, get the one-of-a-kind Thosai Waffle (RM20) served with chicken or beef curry, coconut and tomato chutney.

Well known for their coffee, VCR also doles out just-as-good brunch stuff. The laidback vibes make it extra welcoming, so bookmark this spot for your next catch-up with a friend. Order the crowd-favourite Pennsylvania Soul (RM25) for crispy fried chicken and potato waffle served with a fragrant chrysanthemum syrup. Also take up Burppler XingWei Cheang’s recommendation for the French Toast (RM19) with espresso ice cream and raspberry compote. It will hit the spot even if you don't have a sweet tooth.
