it was so hyped up and everyone said it was good so i felt like i had to try it at least once before they disappeared (damn marketing strategies). i felt like it’s overhyped tbh... like ok the crust was nice, but it tasted too fried & oily, & the chocolate filling tasted like artificial chocolate cream? this pie reminded me that i was eating from mcdonalds so i cant expect much lol. while it was not 100% inedible, i wouldn’t have this again. 😟

so many things going on here! vanilla soft serve drizzled with brown sugar syrup, matcha jelly, shiratama & azuki!! i loOOOOOVE texture so this was amazing for me. everything went so well together. i used to hate matcha x azuki but im becoming a fan. sweetness was okay too. the main though.... its saltiness was hypertention-worthy 😪 i had the ginger pork rice & it was good but too damn salty. the soup too urgh. the best was the potato salad. one of my fav side dishes! i love japanese food so much i crave for it everyday 😅

i thought it would taste very rich & not sweet like the high intensity ones i tried in the past (dont know why ppl like bitter & unsweet matcha ice cream) but it was actually comfortably intense & sweet as well. found it a little too sweet but the charcoal waffle i ordered wasn’t sweet so both of them went well together! the waffle was crispy and a little eggy, i actually liked it. :) shortly after i had tummy pain and dashed to the loos 4 times on my way home (it was a v torturous train ride back) & 1 time at home, the food poisoning pain was real 🤢 guys don’t consume dairy when you can feel an oncoming tummy ache, it really makes it worse (tried & tested yesterday) ((also i already felt the tummy pain before i came here, just a disclaimer!!!))

boy this stall is featured 3 times on here already jcdjkdkd but it’s really that good... i ordered the exact same thing as i did the previous time i came here 😂: big chicken bao, red bean bao & siu mai. my mom got the kong ba bao, red bean bao & fan choy. they were as good as i remembered, and omg listen!!! the fan choy is super good 😭 its the first time i tried handmade fan choy (usually fanchoy is factory made) and they did it so well, it tastes like a fan choy + char siew rice mixture and the rice was wet (in the right consistency) not dry like normal fan choy & the char siew was soft & juicy! my dad also tried the glutinous rice & it was as good + chewy!! truly classic dimsum done right. i also got taro soy milk but with no sugar this time bc i remembered the taro was alr sweetened and this time it was super good, just the right amount of sweetness & it tastes like a drinkable dessert. im satisfied and also i love sg hawker food ❤️ (in the past i hated hawker centres & preferred restaurants but ever since i learned how to cook i developed a love for hawker food bc its hard to cook, so i dont cook them and end up needing to eat them sometime in the week and also bc my parents love hawker centres so that weekend hawker bfast habit kinda rubbed off on me. long live hawker culture!!!! sg hawker culture pls dont die)

so this Kimly place is a chain dimsum place, but i saw reviews that said it was not bad, and i tried it before but can’t remember how good it was so i decided to get it, but it turned out not satisfactory 😭 i wanted soft, fluffy baos and they felt soft but not soft enough so i went to steam them again at home and they became dryer & harder?? i swear my steaming rack/whatever i used to steam it has some issues 🤔 so yeah and the bao skin was very thick with too little fillings, so i was just eating dry bao skin 😪 & the siew mai wasn’t juicy & flavourful enough. this makes me distrust chains again. can chains ever be good? 🤔 (also the msg aftertaste from this oh god)

i remember trying them when i was much younger but didn’t really take note of the brand & didn’t eat them often but here i am today buying bread from dayplus again 😂 truly the power of influencing & social media. anyway i got cheese, maple & red bean, and already tried maple (+ hokkaido cream last time) they are known for baking soft & fluffy bread so i wanted to see what it would taste like if i steam it (bc steaming can make stale bread taste soft & fluffy) and it was indeed an amazing breakfast. it was so soft & didnt even spring back up when you press it down and there was a not so sweet maple syrup fragrance. my hands also smelled like maple syrup afterwards. can’t wait to try their other flavours 😋

it’s understandable that it costs S$50+ because the food quality is good and there’s such a wide variety here. they have local, cantonese, japanese & western cuisines here, and even their own dessert shop (ikr???) like what. and don’t get me started on the drinks. they have a barista & juicer right at the buffet, making fresh coffee (+ DECAF OPTION 😍) & juice for anyone that requests it. some of my fav food: - red velvet waffles: omg i still remember how it tastes now... crispy, fluffy, slightly sweet & chocolaty and goes so well with a drizzle of maple syrup!
- banana bread: a lil sweet for me but banana fragrance was there and this cake was moist & buttery
- decaf cappuccino: strong coffee notes without the caffeine rush, wasn’t diluted or weird like how some decaf coffee can get! a big cup too 🤩
- nasi lemak sambal chilli: sweet, mildly spicy & the perfect accompaniment for nasi lemak rice
- char siew pastry: wow i enjoyed this a lot bc the char siew was sweet, the pastry was buttery, flaky and it was my first time having a pastry like that! the skin wasn’t too thick as well. if yall have the chance do come down to try Edge’s buffet breakfast!

neither have i til i came across this restaurant @ vivo city 🤩 its name was kinda misleading bc it was called Cinnamon ice cream but there was a gingerbread stuck on it (you know how all gelato have food items stuck on them on display) so i asked to try it and was like yes i need this bc it tasted exactly like gingerbread cookies & also had cookie crumbs in them. i love gingerbread cookies so i enjoyed this unique gelato flavour! also loved that this place sold many kinds of desserts & food, from pasta to rice bowls it was like a supermarket + cafe in one place 👌🏻

without add-ons, you get a leafy green, 3 toppings, seeds/dried fruit and a dressing for $4.99! what a steal 😍 and you can add on protein like chicken or cheese at $1/add-on. i had: romaine, cherry tomatoes, pumpkin, soba, dried fruit & honey mustard + add-on cheddar cheese & lemon garlic chicken! i split this into 2 meals (lunch yesterday & today) bc the portion was huge (& cooked the second half bc i didn’t feel like cold food today 😂) cooked & raw versions were both good but raw was better bc i dislike cooked lettuce hhh i was still hungry/not satisfied after the cooked one tho bc it seemed so little so i stole some of my sis’s fried rice & mackerel fish 🤪

my brain kept yelling at me to get it so i caved in and satisfied my cravings 😂 love how the fillings from mr bean’s pancakes are always overflowing, totally worth the calories 💯 my fave flavours are hazelnut, kaya cheese and egg mayo 🤤 this was surprisingly filling considering the huge amount of sugar in it 😂 (i usually get hungry super fast if i eat things with lots of sugar, like granola & smoothies 🤧)

/ this is this month’s flavour rotations: vietnamese latte & matcha sorbet with almond crunch! it melted too quickly but i liked that the coffee one had a moderately strong coffee flavour and the matcha sorbet tasted like a lightly sweetened green tea soft serve. the almond crunch is so good paired with the soft serve, i felt like i was eating cereal with ice cream 🤩 being a caffeine fan (give me alllll the coffee, tea & chocolate flavoured shit pls) i really loved this month (?)’s rotation and it was worth my $7! (well $3.50 bc i shared). in the 2nd pic is a teh cinno cruffin. i wanted to try the viet coffee one but they were out of stock :( the teh cinno cruffin is basically milk tea cruffin and i liked it of course, tho i would have preferred it warm. and with less sugar coated outside. but overall it was a really trashy but delish tea break spent with my best friend! great break from school for a while before hell officially starts! :-)

archiving good food that entered my belly
