Slightly pricey ice cream but amazing quality and interior design.

Char kway teow is one of my favourite dishes, especially the ones that are lighter in colour with a strong wokhei taste. This one hits all the right spots with generous amounts of beansprouts and egg for texture

This is the W.W.W - essentially fried chicken & waffles!! The chicken was flavourful and crispy and went well with the sweet waffles. Really huge portion though, advisable to share the dish (:

ColBar is a well hidden-old school-90s tuck shop located in Portsdown Road. They serve booze and other hawker dishes in a retro setting. Despite that It might be a little hard to get to the place without a car as it’s far away from any busstop.

You know this restaurant is serious about what they are doing when they built 2 woodfired ovens by hand. Yes! You heard me right, the ovens were assembled on site with each individual brick stacked by hand. Call it crazy but specializing in artisanal bread each of them baked from these ovens taste amazing with just enough char to add sufficient flavour to them. Surely the breads are stars here but the tantalizing dishes should not be ignored. Being a guy who loves steak, of course we went for the striploin and tenderloin both cooked over wood fire which also provides a very nostalgic bbq smell to the restaurant. The tenderloin which was a thicker cut, was definitely juicier and more tender despite it costing around $60 as compared to the $42 striploin. Each piece of steak was also served with a generous portion of roasted potatoes simply seasoned with rock salt and rosemary. Overall this restaurant has a homely feel to it, the ones where you can trust that you’ll have an amazing sit down meal without all the formalities. .

Has been wanting to try this cafe for, in fact, the longest time already but for some reason just never got the opportunity to. Anyways, Sunday Folks. It has always been the go to place for teens and cafe goers alike looking for a hipster cafe. Specializing in cakes and soft serve ice cream, this cafes served up amazing waffles with their ice cream. Piping hot waffles, toasted to perfection topped with a generous portion of ice cream. I loved how they mixed different textures into their waffles. From the crunchy waffles to some fruits such as strawberries to some nut crunch. All that together makes for a well balanced dish that is not too 1 dimensional. I also really enjoyed the creative flavors of ice cream that they offer. From earl grey lavender to roasted pistachio to dark chocolate. Available on weekdays from tue to fri from 5-7pm they do have a 1 for 1 waffle and cake promotion so do head on down!! .
