Really hearty big breakfast!! 😋This is perfect brunch food. (especially those with a big appetite) It comes with eggs of any style (we chose scrambled!), really fatty bacon, pork sausage, huge portobello mushrooms, vegetable rosti, chorizo baked beans, cherry tomatoes and sourdough toast! It was really satisfying! I’m not a huge fan of big baked beans, but I really liked the ones they serve here. Also, the scrambled eggs were really creamy! However, we found the sourdough toast very tough, and we had a hard time cutting into it. 😰 It’s a little pricey at $27, but it’s worth getting if you’re sharing with friends 😊

There’s no such thing as a get rib quick scheme at @walkingonsunshine.cafe as their beef short ribs ($25.50 before GST) are slow cooked to terrific tenderness. As you can imagine, slow cooked short ribs are the softest things on planet earth, second only to the bed every morning.⠀

I’m not even exaggerating when I say that I shook her off my bone-uh...lemme rephrase that real quick. As I was saying, all that was required for the beef to come clean off the big bone was a bit of jiggling & slight cajoling with a fork. There was a good deal of fat in there, but it was all so competently cooked that it melted in the mouth like butter. Additionally, the browning & char on the exterior was simply stellar.⠀

The only gripe I got with this rib is that it was under seasoned. Yeah I know, they provided some sumptuously sapid sauce on the side along with three different kinds of salt so you could season to satisfaction, I see it. I’d prefer if it came outta the kitchen already well seasoned as opposed to having to DIY, but different strokes for different folks I guess.⠀

What’s definitely indisputable is the value. For a behemoth beef rib like this, $25.50 with just an additional 7% government tax is a helluva steal. I’m serious, you’d be hard pressed to find a restaurant doing gargantuan beef ribs this good for this little.

I liked how they offer to heat up the breads upon order.
Their signature Sor Hei ($3.60) was a delight! Danish pastry that had a crisp layer while remaining fluffy and soft inside, with a bit of sweetness from the chocolate chips.

I’m quite over the whole matcha/ salted egg phase and here we’ve got a combination of the two - but the Green Egg Bun ($ 2.80) was very enjoyable! The bun was also soft and fluffy, so it’s pretty comforting to have it piping hot while the matcha salted egg is oozy - not too sweet with a hint of bitterness.

Caramel croissant ($3) - flaky, buttery croissants with caramel fillings that wasn’t too sweet, but personally felt the beautifully glazed layer on top was too thick, sweet and annoyingly sticky. Overall, I like it enough to order it again but will probably just munching too much of the caramelised layer.

They also offer toasts set ($5) - which we got the kaya toast, comes with two sous vide eggs and a choice of drink. Go for their Kopi Susu!

Super compact menu of wallet-friendly comfort fare priced from $7 for scrambled eggs and toast. Opted for the pesto-infused "green" scrambled eggs but we didn't really get much pesto punch. Would recommend sticking with the normal one.

The eggs ben was not too bad. I liked the lemony Hollandaise sauce, though it would have been better if the poached eggs' yolks were still oozy.

The bolognese pasta tastes exactly as you would expect. I would have preferred a touch more salt, but good value at $9.

SEAFOOD AGLIO OLIO ($15.90): my highlight of the day!!!! that garlic punch it gave added so many layers to the dish. i enjoyed the crispy garlic slices so so much. definitely a btr aglio olio compared to others!!!
BERRIES PANCAKE (can’t rmb): This i rmb, was super light, super fluffy, not very sweet. feels a lot like the castella cake!!! love it
EGGS BENEDICT ($14.90): served with crispy hash (tasted a lot like chips in fries form). first eggs benedict cus m not an egg person but i enjoyed it
INDIAN CHURROS ($4.90): fried prata in the shape of churros with cinnamon sugar. tasted like normal churros but u get the after taste of the prata. kinda cool but i would prefer the soft centre of the regular churros
