Go for their signature Tinto De Pintxos ($18): their version of Sangria and Super duper thick and saturated and sooooo worth it. Refreshing and perfect for accompanying the Pintxos! Contains red wine, orange juice, run and loads of fruits that the bartender let ferment for 3 days at least! Otherwise, go for the just as popular The Mansion ($18) for a potent mixture of brandy, raspberry purée, Cointreau, cherry syrup, angostura Bitters and ginger beer! Salut!

Tortilla de Patatas ($4.90): Spanish omelette! Buttery warm delicious Super satisfying. Dig in and take a bite to experience the ultimate comfort food. I remember needing to have this every single day when I was in San Sebastián. Really brought all the best memories back when I had this in Txa. Super authentic! 100% will be back for more :) while in the Basque Country it’s usually served cold because it’s left on display, over here you can decide if you want it warmed up! But either way, portions are generous so it’s perfect for sharing/ carb loading!

Txangurro a la Donostiarra ($14 for 2 pax): gratinated crab in its shell. Delightfully crumbly and yummy:) Fresh too!

Idiazábal Con Membrillo Y Nueces($5.90) - Bread, Idiazabal Cheese, Quince (a pear-like jam) and walnuts. Thus was sweet and savoury all in one. Didn’t ever want it to end tbh so yums!

There’s just something about the intimate, no frills, casual setting of the satay bar. It’s right beside the famous Little Vietnam but for a newly opened spot, it can definitely hold it’s own. Come for fresh icy cold drafts of Guinness accompanied by a couple plates of grilled skewers. The service is TOPNOTCH- Super friendly and warm. Love the vibes here. And the food is sooooo goooood, especially for the price. It’s definitely a go-to hang out spot for friends. Loved the thigh and thigh w leek, the grilled chicken cubes were juicy and just exploded with flavour with each bite. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SPOT!

I never knew I quail eggs could taste this good! With the smoky salty creamy garnishing of mentaiko, it completely brought this simple snack to the next level! Asparagus bacon was nice and crunchy with a savoury salty kick to each bite. Perfect when knocking back a cold one!

Our starter of choice- no regrets there! The silky smooth cubes of tofu melts in the mouth with each bite, balancing the stronger saltier flavours of the century egg. Mmmmmm!

This one is perfect for group-sharing. Their Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun ($68) that is generous in portion and features slices of A4 Kagoshima wagyu soaked in truffle-gravy that melted in our mouths.

Their Firecracker Chicken and Maple Fritters ($16) is literally a culinary adventure on its own. The crunch and spicy-saltiness of the fried chicken cubes coupled with soothing sweetness of the maple you-tiaos. Yum~

At first glance, you would think nothing of the place. White walls, marble tables, wooden stools. A nice kopitiam, sure. With excellent Noodle with Char Siew & Wanton ($5.50) aka Wanton Mee (Please add chilli!). Yet, we soon found out that, like most things, there is a lot more to it than meets the eye.

We spotted a small, unassuming ‘Enter’ sign enclosed within a wooden photo frame that was hung up beside a fridge which, upon closer inspection, we realised was actually a door!

You could imagine our excitement by now, as we gripped the handle and pulled it open to reveal an alley way that seemed to transport us back in time or at least, slot us into a scene from a Wong Kar-Wai film. Red lights, red letter box, another red door. We pushed it open again and were greeted by a women in cheongsams and men in boater hats. Wow.

You know that feeling of apprehension that accompanies most beautiful settings? The fear that the food won’t match up to the aesthetics of the restaurant? Well, you won’t have to experience that here. Not only are the bites delicious, the drinks are to-die-for. I recommend having their Old Fashion Twist, which is essentially banana infused into gold rum with a stick of cinnamon to give it that a spicy kick.
