Da Shi Jia’s Wok-Fried Big Prawn White Bee Hoon ($16.80) is one of those dishes you look at and think it’ll be pretty normal. But once you taste the orange-tinged gravy the bee hoon is coated with, you’ll be floored! They simmer down prawn stock in the gravy, creating a sweet, salty yumminess that makes you want more. The fresh prawns, lean pork, onions and lard are good, but remember to clean up the gravy!
