I thought the Tortiglioni Spicy Pink Sauce ($8.50) was pretty good - the sauce was tasty, and I like the tinge of spice that came with it! As for the Tortiglioni Rustic Beef Oxtail Bolognese ($18.50), we felt that although the beef pieces were quite tender, the sauce was a tad watery for our liking. We also got the Cod Finger & Mozzarella Cheese Stick ($8.50) to share. Overall, a decent enough place to satisfy your pasta cravings with affordable pricing. They have other outlets at VivoCity and Jewel Changi Airport as well.

We made a visit to Hard Rock Cafe recently to try out the newly-launched Messi Burger! It includes two beef patties topped with provolone cheese, chorizo, caramelised red onions, lettuce, tomato, and Hard Rock Cafe’s signature sauce. Overall, very yummy, with the patties having an excellent char to it, and the ingredients working harmoniously together. We tried out other dishes too like the Famous Fajitas (Grilled Shrimp) and Classic Nachos. The fajitas came with a generous serving of fillings and guacamole with fresh, well-seasoned shrimp, while the nachos are a great sharing appetiser with its huge hearty portion and classic taste!

Their signature Rotisserie Roasted Chicken is succulent and really well-seasoned, and I personally liked having the Black Pepper Sauce to go along with the chicken! The Truffle Cream Pasta was surprising really creamy and their corn muffins are always a good side to have! Will give a special mention to the other 2 sides (Potato Salad & Coleslaw) too, we really enjoyed having them alongside the mains! Safe to say, we were all belly-satisfied at the end of the meal!

It’s Grand Hyatt Singapore’s 50th anniversary and to celebrate, Executive Chef Gottfried Schuetzenberger has created 2 anniversary menus (Lunch at $50++ and Dinner from $68++) from now till 30 November 2021 at mezza9 and Pete’s Place. The menus showcase beloved dishes that were once served at the hotel’s former restaurants: Nutmegs, Hugo’s and Branningan’s.

For the special dinner menu at Pete’s Place, we each got to enjoy Beef Carpaccio w Rocket, Shaved Parmesan Cheese, Balsamic & Lemon (so savoury and fresh!), Mushroom Soup w/ Black Truffle & Walnut-Bread Croutons (really comforting and loved the earthy truffle aroma), Cioppino Alla Pete’s Place (really hearty seafood with pasta - I’d recommend adding on Salmon Caviar ($15++) for an extra burst of flavour!) and a delectable dessert - Baba w/ Cherry Jubilee, Cherry Flambee & Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (great end to the meal!). Overall, we felt this is very worth it for the food quality and the price you’re paying.

To top off our meal, we had a refreshing glass of Tropical Itch ($12++/glass; available at mezza9 too)! It’s a signature cocktail from Brannigan’s that’s back as part of the 50th anniversary menu specials. Finally, would love to give a special shout-out to Tango & team too for their excellent service that night!

The crust had such a good bite to it! Bottom was crispy but dough was still chewy. Loved the combination of fresh arugula that cuts through the salty and fatty prosciutto. Very well balanced overall in terms of taste!

The filling was light and creamy; caramelised butter sauce wasn't overly rich. We also loved the addition of pine nuts that added a toasty and nutty depth of flavour to the overall taste! Just wished the portion was more generous!

~Baklava (My first time trying Baklava, and I quite liked it actually! Love the combination of sweet and nutty in this dessert!)

Now let’s talk about the food! Ngl, I was high-key excited since the hype surrounding this place is still going strong, and the food here certainly was worth all that buzz! Just gonna cut to the chase here and recommend (out of the dishes we had) ordering the Fairfax Sandwich (The scrambled eggs were so fluffy & creamy! Love the buttery brioche bun too!), Slut (Love the crispy and creamy combination of having the baguette dipping into the glass jar of potato purée and eggs) and Truffle Hashbrowns (Potentially the best hashbrowns I ever had!)!

ChopS! Grill & Sides, a fast casual local western food concept, has recently opened their new flagship outlet at GR.ID. My friend and I dropped by recently and had these:

~ChopBurger Ultimate (double - $10.90)
~Australian Grassfed Ribeye Steak w/ Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese ($15.90)
~Panfry Norwegian Salmon w/ Crispy Fries and Creamy Mash ($13.90)
~Chop Cheesy Fries ($4.90)

My favourite dish among what we tried is the ChopBurger Ultimate, which features juicy & flavourful beef patties topped with turkey bacon, a sunny side up and cheese – all stacked between brioche buns! The Australian Grassfed Ribeye Steak was pretty decent too, and the 2 sides that I chose - Potato Salad and Mac & Cheese were good! The Chop Cheesy Fries was quite addictive, although it did get a little jelak after awhile.

They also offer islandwide delivery via their website at www.chopsgrillandsides.com and have 2 other outlets in Holland Village & Guillemard Road. All the food in their menu has no pork or lard.

Have you guys tried sourdough pizza before? I tried it for the first time recently from Goldenroy Sourdough Pizza, and I must say it was really delicious!

Here’s their Goldenroy Weekday Special (the pizzas can serve up to 4 pax):
~½ x Pepperoni & Rare Cheese Sourdough
~½ x Roast Beef & Garlic Sourdough
~½ x Mushroom Pesto Sourdough
~½ x Clam & Garlic Sourdough

First let’s talk about their sourdough pizza base! It is definitely thicker and fluffier than your usual pizza bases, and I really dig it! The sourdough is aged over 48 hours, then baked with only olive oil until a crisp texture. I like the variety of flavour options provided by this Weekday Special, as I get to try 4 different flavours at one go without having to order individual portions for each. My favourites are the Mushroom Pesto and Pepperoni & Rare Cheese! Special mention to the Parmsan Garlic Knots too, they were so addictive and bursting with a cheesy garlicky flavour!

Had an enjoyable lunch recently at Saveur, where we indulged in delectable meat dishes like the Filet Mignon Au Poivre and the Roasted Pork Rack. The former in particular, really left a deep impression on me! The pepper crusted meat was so tender, and is served with pepper sauce doused with cognac, together with a side of cheesy Potato Au Gratin! Special mention to the Lobster Bisque too, it was creamy and flavourful in every sip!

This was easily the star of the show, both in its presentation and taste! The 200 days grain-fed Angus Tomahawk had been dry aged till robust and tender, every bite makes you want more! I’m already salivating while typing this! 🤤
