Oriole is known for its coffee so this was a must-try. Not too milky with a well rounded body.

One of my favourite cafe for coffee, and their cold brew white is my go-to drink to seek temporary respite from the unrelenting heat. More milky than other similar cold brew, it’s very easy to drink and tastes so refreshing and light on the palate. Made in-house, the freshness is also guarantee. The cafe has also a very chillax, unpretentious vibe to it which makes it a nice place just to hang out and relax.

In this quaint hideaway located within the Kum Yan Methodist Church, this is a wonderful place to rest tired feet and soul. The decor is cosy and tastefully decorated. The coffee (from Prodigal Roasters) is balanced, smooth and has a nice mellow rounded taste.

Located at #01-15 whampoa makan place (the night hawker centre), I've been ordering for at least the last 25 years from this stall run by a father-mother-son team. Pure unadulterated sugar cane goodness at just $1.80 for this huge cup. You can also choose to add lemon.

This Hainanese kopi stall started at Lau Pa Sat in 1964 before relocating to its current premise at Amoy Street Food Centre in 1997. Made of robusta beans that were ground in-house, the coffee is thick and robust. Would be perfect if the coffee is a tad sweeter to bring out the full flavors, on the bitter side. Try their kaya French Toast that’s toasted over charcoal!

Been drinking since 4 years ago where I used to work in the Chinatown area. Used to be better, and had seen better days. Flavor is now pretty watered down and not as full and aromatic as a cuppa of Nanyang coffee should be. Pretty average now to be honest. Inconsistency is their Achilles heel.

Offering limited options of white, black and cold brew, Glasshouse at CHIJMES offers a wonderful setting in the heart of town to rest your tired feet and soul. Flushed with wonderful natural light, it’s perfect for your OOTD and the perfect IG photo.

Coffee wise, pretty ordinary I would say and it’s pretty mild for the white. Come here for the ambience in the heart of town.

Velvety smooth, moccha like which is the hallmark of good local coffee. Michelin awarded in 2016 - it’s definitely worthy.

A local favorite that can be enjoyed at all times of the day. The toast was wonderfully warm with slabs of butter and kaya (coconut jam) - so simple yet ever so tasty. The tea was velvety with the right amount of sweetness.

Nice cosy place to chill with its soft music and overall comfortable ambience. Mocha ordered was aromatic, smooth and not overly strong in either the coffee or chocolate department.

Still the best pick me up, and local brew by a mile as compared to other local coffee house. It’s moderately thick without being too gao, creamy and has a nice mocha aftertaste. At $1.80 a cup!
