Surprisingly, everyone was Indonesian!
Ok now to the main topic, their famous 🍳salted egg chicken rice🍗🍚
The sauce had the right texture, creamy but not too creamy. The salted egg flavor was notable, however, I think it’s a little too sweet and might need more curry leaves to get that curry ‘kick’. The chicken pieces were quite good, the batter decent.
Overall, I enjoyed it! If it were less sweet it would’ve totally been better!
Tip: if you want a fried egg in your rice set, you have to specify!

Prepare to be dazzled by their pastry case as everything looks so pretty and you just can’t decide which to have.
Here are the two that I decided to try out (“Bananier” was sold out :( )
Fluffy consist of white chocolate mousse, strawberry cremeux, passionfruit jelly and almond genoise (sponge cake). The white chocolate mousse had real good smooth texture and wasn’t as sweet as expected (which is perfect!) however it is too monotonous on its own. The existence of the strawberry cremeux really leveled the cake up! Love how tart and delicious the cremeux was! The almond genoise also played a good role to add some texture without diminishing ‘fluffiness’ of the cake. Indeed the ‘fluffiest’ pastry I’ve ever had 🥰

The flatbread tasted magnificent! 🤩❤️ Love the filling and to be honest didn’t expect a savory sandwich to go so well with the honey! Really enjoyed this dish (the salad has real good dressing too!) would be better if the truffle was a little stronger but it’s notable already.
A very recommended dish when you decide to have a light lunch at Antoinette! SOOO GOOD I LOVE IT 🥰

Although I still wish they had fried chicken breast as an option too. Their fried chicken has real good tasting batter 🤤
In frame is their signature boneless fried chicken leg with Garlic Butter Rice which has a quite ok flavor, with broccoli + carrot + onsen egg! They can definitely do better with the veggies but if you’re here for the fried chicken you’ll be satisfiedd 👌🏻

Didn’t took us long to get a table bc it has passed lunch time, but the food, LITERALLY TAKES SO VERY LONG TO COME OMG.
The wait was worth it though! Their 🍜MUN KIAW MIEN is definitely a must try! Very good semi-dry wok fried noodles, with shrimps, pork meat, some veggies, mushrooms, and DAMN DELICIOUS FRIED WONTON!!! No wonder they’re so proud of this dish, they would recommend you to try them when ordering!
Another amazing dish was GURAME TAHU TAUSI🐟 (Fried Garoupa with Black Bean Sauce). SOOOOO GOOD, my favorite Ikan Tahu Tausi so far! The gravy just soooo nice with the black beans, the tofu silky smooth, the fish fried nicely, ngga amis 👌🏻 MUST TRYYYYY
Bistik Sapi aka beef with saus mentega (Beef with Butter sauce) was nice and more to the salty saus mentega type.
Sweet and sour pork (Babi Kulunyuk) had nice flavors too. The Garlic Po Cai aka my fav veggie was good but I’s prefer it to be less oily.
OVERALL— a unique dining experience indeed, as Wong Fu Kie is one of the oldest traditional Chinese restaurants in Jakarta. Frequent diners (my mom’s friends) say that food always take VERY LONG to come but diners can’t really complain to the owner 😂. Well at least what you’re waiting for will be worth it!

Btw the way to this restaurant might be confusing because it is located literally hidden inside alleys and only some people might know, I suggest finding directions in google when planning a visit.

The flavor reminds me of chilli crab but without fishy-ocean notes I guess. Pertama kali nyobain and quite spicy, but enakkkkkkk anddd they say the kwetiau bagan here has been known as one of the best for a long time.
As for the Fried Kwetiau (kwetiau goreng), another kwetiau shop still got my favorite kwetiau goreng but I say the kwetiau goreng here is quite good, too!

Took a look at their menu while I was passing by and looks promising. “Dim Sum Tasting Platter” is very recommendable as customers will be able to try various dim sum without having to order a large portion of each.
Swan Black Pepper Pastry, reminds me of Li Feng’s, except theirs wasn’t black and the outer pastry quite different. It tasted quite good! (Li Feng’s was exceptional.. just incomparable)
Queen’s Shiumay, I love the flavor of the shrimp
Spicy Shiumay, uniquely spicy and less shrimp-y than usual shiumay, topped with spicy floss.
Black Golden Custard Bao, your usual oozy custard filled bao, in black color! It tasted goooooddddd
Black Hargau, again the shrimps here taste amazinggggg!
My Little Apple, green cute apple shaped bun filled with delicious apple custard! 😋
Shrimp and Chinese Kale rice roll (aka Cheong Fen) was also okay, I like the sauce here and again, the shrimp is seasoned soooo good!

What’s better than having a good meal? Having a good meal knowing it’s good for your body too, just like what I had in @firelesskitchen !
Yep, the Fireless Kitchen is indeed fire-less just like its name suggests. Instead of the traditional cooking method, they ‘Sous-Vide’, where food is vacuum packed then incubated at a lower cooking temperature but for longer hours. This method of cooking results in more tender juicier meats, that are evenly cooked throughout.
In frame is a customized bowl of Sous Vide Marinated Beef, brown rice, miso glazed carrot, broccoli, and sous-vide egg.
I am not a big beef fan but I chose beef as they look tender, and so happy I was right! It wasn’t hard to chew at all and juicy, although I added some bbq sauce (free to take) to add some more flavor.
Their brown rice are seasoned with cajun and it tastes really good! I love the seasoning!
Vegetables are still crunchy but somehow soft and so to my liking! You really have to try their miso glazed carrot! Soooo amazing
One thing I would like to see improve is how they put the egg on my bowl. The yolk poured out already so I didn’t get to poke them myself :( (yep that’s big deal for me haha)

But I expected the cookie to be more ‘spiced’ like the biscoff but well it tastes amazing already!!!
My favorite is 🍫 Choco Bueno 🍫 (i didn’t take a specific picture of it because I had it for takeaway, but it’s there in 2nd picture). Since the cookie dough was chocolate it was less sweet and had that bitterness from the chocolate which I liked a lot! Totally recommended!
Each cookie comes with an injection of your choice; nutella, marshmallow, dulche de leche. This one in frame is the biscoff with dulche de leche. I had my choco bueno with nutella, just perfect! 😋✨

🇸🇬🎉 This beautiful turquoise color dominant little dessert shop is conveniently located near the hipster Haji Lane; Bali Lane to be exact.
In frame is the very aesthetically pleasing “Peranakan Road” which is one of the Singapore exclusives available.
Consist of original egglet (egg waffle) with pandan kaya spread at the bottom part, and on top is coconut ice cream, sweet potato cream, 2 slices of dragonfruit and 2 slices of mango, some fruit loops.
The egglets were fluffy and airy on the inside, crispy on the outside 🤩, well at least for the top part. The bottom part (deep inside the cone) gets kinda mushy but that’s acceptable since the vapour from the hot egglet condenses.
The coconut ice cream was sweet, donnr really notice the sweet potato on the cream, fruits were fresh. Pandan kaya spread was good but the coconut ice cream totally covered it.
Overall a nice dessert to try! Also a very instagrammable one! 😉

Pazzion’s “Baked Eggs” uses chicken meat, thin bacon strips and just some vegetable that adds good flavor. To be honest I didn’t expect it to be this good! The bacon strips add a very nice crisp to the whole dish. The toast was a sourdough which is not something I usually like, but somehow their sourdough wasn’t as hard as other sourdoughs I’ve eaten. The tomato sauce tasted so nice.
You can imagine this dish as some kind of chicken bolognese with an egg on top. Btw slide to see some #yolkporn

Po Cai with 3 eggs in superior stock. The stock wasn’t very bold in flavor but actually I don’t mind since it makes it lighter. But maybe then they should remove ‘superior’ since I expected a more flavorful stock by that term.
Service here was amazing! Even though it’s very crowded the food didn’t take too long and requests were responded quickly. 👌🏻✨
