this is a dessert i never knew i was missing out on.
for a bowl of 6 balls at $2.60, i can’t believe i’ve never tried this interesting dessert. 2x peanut, 2x sesame, 1x yam and 1x matcha (pictured), in a base of peanut soup, this warm dessert is sure to want you coming back for more!
it’s hard to pick a favourite flavour but if i were to get 6 of the same, i would probably pick sesame(:
first time in a while since i’ve had duck so i thought this was decent!! very distinctly braised so it’s got that tenderness to it. but i personally enjoyed the two types of chilli (bottom right) more than the duck itself.
a popular stall with about 20-25 min waiting time in the early afternoon on a weekday.
advised by a friend to get it as a takeaway because it imparts more flavour to the noodles (don’t ask me why, this is science), we got two portions; 1 portion for $4 as pictured. waiting time in the early afternoon on a weekday was still about 20-25 min.
tbh thought it was a little pricey for the quantity but once i put the first few delectable morsels of noodle in my mouth it was game over for the noodles.
10/10 would return, could use more chili though.
the only thing i didn’t find to my liking was that the 2 small prawns were not deveined. but honestly with these noodles i could do without the prawn and it would still be great.
an amazing bowl of laksa, one of our local delights. pictured : at $3 a bowl you get a bowl of noodles in a delicious orange broth that isn’t too creamy or too thick (read : just right), a generous serving of cockles, and a spoon of sambal belacan chilli on the side. not pictured : our satisfied faces after consumption of this delightful meal! situated in the berseh food centre area, jalan besar, this humble stall has consistent queues adjacent to the shop, complete with a snaking queue barrier to regulate the laksa-craving masses, this shop hardly disappoints. the ONLY caveat i’ve got as a big eater is that portions are rather small and we had to get 2 bowls each. however at $3 a bowl this is hardly a complaint, and perhaps a single bowl would be an ideal portion for a snack
