Despite having rebranded itself as a tendon place, I find their ramen more outstanding. And it’s definitely improved since the last time I was here! The tonkotsu ramen ($12.80++) has a thick flavourful broth, whilst the spicy tonkotsu ramen ($13.80++) sure packs a punch. The noodles are thinner than usual and were served with one slice of meat and bamboo shoots. Interestingly, the spicy version came with minced meat in a spicy paste. The burpple beyond deal here is a rather limited as you only have 4 ramen options to choose from. It also enforces that you order an iced green tea ($2++), but the drink leaves much to be desired as it was very thin and lacking in taste.

Truly enjoyed the food here, and better with Burpple 1 for 1 (it is a little pricey). Perfectly cooked ribs and brisket. Melt in your mouth, full of flavour! We also got the fried mac and cheese... so decadent and yummy. Recommend! (Or another side, as the meat mains only come with slaw - which is also really yummy). Wish they had a bigger beer selection though.

Nonetheless, the food still tastes amazing and dare I might say, the nasi lemak here can be considered one of the best in Singapore. Their basic nasi lemak set ($12.80) comes with steamed coconut rice, a huge portion of ayam goreng berempah, peanuts, ikan bilis, cucumber, a perfectly fried egg and sambal. The price might put off some but it’s the laborious process, premium ingredients into making this plate that makes it worthwhile. On a side note, will The Coconut Club be expecting a Michelin Star this year since they are out of the Bib Gourmand?

Pay $17 and you will get a big, affordable and delicious ribs that are served with sweet potato fries! Support social enterprise!

Fuel up mid-museum viewing at this casual cafe housed in National Gallery. The menu boasts a selection of Straits Chinese options, such as the community-approved Seafood Peranakan Laksa ($12.80) — fresh mussels, squid and prawns and vermicelli sitting in a thick and creamy laksa broth. Light and tasty is the Shredded Chicken Porridge ($7.80) that will satiate if you are feeling peckish.

Located at a random corner of the dodgy shopping mall, the restaurant serves generous serving of delicious chirashi don ($26). The fish slices are so thick, at least twice the thickness of the typical sashimi. And they taste so fresh! The chirashi don had a great variety of fishes and scallops, and it leaves you feeling so satisfied. Kudos to the Chef!

1f1 with burrple beyond~~~ i liked how fluffy the buns were and the patty was rly thick and meaty!! the cheese was also satisfyingly melted across the whole patty which almost enclosed it. while the portion of the fries was acceptable, they weren’t the best i’ve had despite still getting the job done in terms of texture!!!

however i do think that this price point makes the burger even more value with burrple beyond!!! so i still had a satisfying and enjoyable dinner 🥰

Really excited to try Dim Sum Haus as I have heard many good reviews of it:) The dim sum did not disappoint! The har gau and charcoal siew mai are stuffed with big morsels of shrimp, the skin is thin and there is a good crunch to the dumplings. The pan-fried carrot cake, fried fresh beancurd skin and steamed crispy rice roll (chee cheong fun) with shrimp faired very well too - the taste and texture are on point. My favourite is steamed pork ribs with yam - the pork ribs and yam are very soft and savoury. The baked salted egg custard bun is highly raved - the exterior is crusty and a lava of sweet salted egg custard bursts out when you bite into it. It’s a little too rich for me at the end of a full meal, but this is probably a hit for fans of 流沙包. Our meal amounted to $52 for 3 pax, which is pretty reasonable even though the Burpple Beyond one-for-one discount for one dish is not much:) Do make a reservation if you are going because they are usually packed!

Always love a good flatbread! The pulled smoked lamb was flavorful, having soaked up the essence of the spices it was simmered with. Then doused with mozzarella that melds in perfect harmony with the punchy pesto!

The 1-for-1 deal is really worth it and my friend got the pan seared salmon with risotto. It’s extremely value for money and it taste like something you could get in an upscale restaurant.

the portion of pork was impressively generous; it was huge and thick! despite that, it was not dry at all like some katsu dishes disappointingly turn out at other places. instead, it had been carefully cooked to retain the meat’s oils, lending moisture and juiciness to the cutlet without making it cloying.

the fried batter on its surface was golden and crisp - a fitting pairing with the tender yet slightly chewy pork which captured a desirable ratio of lean meat to fats. the curry on the other hand, was fragrant and rich without being too salty.

got this at half price with my burrple beyond 1f1!!! 🤗

Very friendly staff. Food took a while to arrive but worth the wait! The ribs fell off the bones and the coconut complemented the ribs perfectly. We also had the Spit Roasted Butter Chicken as we were using the Burpple Beyond 1-1, and it was so good as well. I particularly enjoyed the briyani, it was so delicious! Will be back to try their Crab Briyani for sure. Note that the service staff asked if we would like still or sparkling water. My guess is that if we asked for the still it would be bottled and charged later on. However we declined and were offered iced water later.
