Pretty much your typical poke bowl, but with some nice additions like mango and onsen egg!

I’ve had Haakon poke before, and I’ve noticed that their salmon is not the freshest. While the salmon was still very mild and creamy in flavour, it wasn’t as soft as you’d expect for sashimi.

All the ingredients in this bowl were amazing! Super fresh and tasted really flavourful. The ambience here is also amazing, with homiest decorations in the middle of CBD! This is way better than the usual grain bowl places I’m used to frequenting like Daily Cut, Wheat etc.

Got the smallest bowl, with sweet potato mash, roast chicken, avocado, tzaziki and Goji berries. I’m a big eater and I still couldn’t finish the generous portion of sweet potato mash! Paid around $15 for this (added $1 for avocado).

Just take note that this isn’t a main that qualifies under Burpple Beyond. Didn’t know it till we were at the counter sadly...

I wouldn’t come here again for their mains 😔

We got 2 bowls of truffle steak salad ($14.90), one with added salmon poke and one without. I didn’t really like the truffle steak because I found the meat to be quite tough. But considering this is a 14.90 salad, I guess I can’t expect much quality beef here.

The salmon poke (+$5 iirc) was the big disappointment for me because the salmon didn’t feel very fresh. I’ve never had chewy salmon and I don’t think I ever want to have it again. I’ve probably been spoilt by poke specialists at A Poke Theory and Aloha Poke. Get your poke fix there instead.

$6 L shake after Burpple Beyond. Really liked how they gave a breakdown of calories and macros for each item on the menu. The kiwi-strawberry shake was freshly made and rather tasty! They also have high protein options / paleo / literally any dietary requirement for the millennial fitspo. Good for a post-workout snack!
