Delicious soup base which wasn’t too overpowering. Noodles were well cooked as well and the chili oil flakes were a nice complement.

From the menu specialising in Straits Asian food, we picked the recommended Hainanese chicken curry noodles and Peranakan seafood laksa.
Both dishes had our thumbs up, although the former stood out more for the creamy curry and the big grilled chicken thigh that already got us salivating even before tasting.
The laksa was delightful too, lemak and flavourful in a different way. And it was elevated with the fresh seafood. The sambal chilli provided a good kick, where more could be added for those appreciate the heat.
For more spicy Asian taste, we also had the mantou in chilli crab sauce which was a good variation of our local chilli crab dish.
With such tasty dishes, our experience was well complemented with weekend live music performance while seated under the tall glass ceiling of the Courtyard lounge.

REMARKS:
- What differentiates this from the two Eng's shops, is that they provide a jar of fried garlic that we can help ourselves to. LOVE IT.
- Noodles is the same type as the two Eng's
- Charsiew is torched just before serving, hence the slightly charred edges
- Soup is very flavourful
- Chilli is not very hot. Makes the noodles salty after I added two spoonfuls of chilli in.
- Cucumber lemonade is nice
- Air-conditioned

Noodles were QQ and slightly hard.
Dumplings and char siew were not bad.
Liked the easy to drink slow-drip coffee more as the flat white had a coconut-y after taste. Super worth it with #BurppleBeyond 1-for-1!
This pasta is special for me because I don't like prawns nor mentaiko, but I would gladly devour this plate of pasta on my own!
So glad to be able to savor that familiar flavors after a long while.

Tasted exactly the same, if not better, back then when it was available at the now defunct The Hangar. Every strand, every morsel were not spared. Simply shiok!!

Truly THE King Of Fried Rice. Each rice grain is separated and fried perfectly, coated with the right amount of oil and fragrance from the egg and wokhey! The pork chop’s seasoning is on point as well, with an umami soy sauce note.
Tried their breakfast menu, kaya bread was warm and fluffy with generous spread ($1.30) and the eggs was just the right texture. Got economic beehoon from the stall beside ($3.10 for my plate) and felt it was value for money.
In the heart of Orchard Road, within the basement level of The Heeren building that also houses the flagship store of Robinson’s is the Hideout Care. I had tried their Teh (tea) with “gula jawa” (palm sugar) once before and liked it. So since I was in the area, I decided to grab a bite here.
Ordered two items, one of which was the “wet” Mee Siam (they also do a “dry” one). It was my first time seeing this dish come topped with an onsen egg and served in a bowl with a pair of chopsticks. Makes sense though as the gravy is closer to that of a soup. Nevertheless, it still had sufficient body and was tasty. It’s not too spicy either but they have a sambal that you can add on if you like your food with more heat.
