Really juicy beef patty complemented by the delectable onion jam. An instant midday mood-lifter :) I ordered directly at the shop and managed to get my food within 20 min, which is quite fast considering the number of orders they probably get through food delivery apps!!

I did not expect to enjoy this hearty duck confit bean stew as much as I did, as the description on the menu and pictures online didn't seem all too appealing. However, it tastes MUCH better than it looks. Breaking past the stretchy cheese, I found more pieces of tender duck confit than I could ever ask for. The beans and tomato paste brought it all together and made a good dip for the sourdough bread (generously slathered with butter).

This exceeded every expectation I had. A maaaasssive serving of rare/medium-rare steak that was so soft and flavourful, accompanied by grilled asparagus and potatoes. The one thing I didn't care much for was the avocado chimichurri mixed with olive oil, it added a tangy oiliness to the meat which I could do without.

My only complaint is that the lighting is really dark here and the space is quite small (and can be cramped if crowded). At one point, one of the waitresses came by to dial the lights even dimmer (???) So probably not the best place for big groups.

The idea was too intriguing to pass up - tender, braised short-ribs coated in panko and fried katsu-style?!?! Unfortunately it (literally) fell apart for me as the breadcrumb coating and short-ribs didn't hold well together. It felt like I was eating 2 very distinct, separate things. The beef was well done, but the novel idea of katsu-ing it really didn't translate well.

Easily my favourite dish of the night, this is everything you could ever want in a cheat meal. The homemade brioche buns were fluffy and soaked up the sweet jam and onions that glued the burger together. The beef patty was extremely thick, but a bit dry (possibly due to it being ordered medium-well). The flavour of cheese is also quite strong here, so it is a mish-mash of extremely rich and indulgent flavours. Definitely not something you could eat every day 😝

Burger aside, the fries were very well-executed too. The shoestring fries were crisp and airy, providing a good balance against the heaviness of the burger.

This is one of the bestsellers, and for good reason! I was very impressed with the homemade pasta - each strand was thick and had a good bite. The duck confit was also impossibly soft and tender, pairing very well in the sauce. Even the sprinkling of hazelnuts won me, a non-nut eater, over.

A falafel pita which brought me straight back to Israel. They really nailed it with the tahini and amba sauces, but it was the falafel that was outstanding - perhaps even better than the ones I have had in Israel! You may be skeptical, doubting if 3 falafel balls and 1 pita bread would be filling enough. Let me assure you that it is - there is nothing more I could've asked for...except maybe some hummus.

What could've been better? For one, the Israeli hospitality would have made my experience more enjoyable. When I found out that Pita Bakery was opened by an Israeli, I was excited to check it out not just for the food, but also for the banter and chit-chat with the chefs/ storeowners that I had become used to in Israel. Maybe the owner was out at the time I visited, and while his staff were helpful, I didn't get /that/ level of hospitality. Second, I would have liked the option of getting a small portion of hummus to eat with my pita! Currently, if you dine-in, there is only a $4 portion of hummus available to order. Given that the pita itself is pretty filling, I would have liked the option to get a smaller serving of hummus just to complete the meal but not fill me up too much.

This might be my favourite salad on the menu! The combination of tangy salsa and creamy smashed avocado was so indulgent yet in some sense, light. I was also pleasantly surprised by the generous serving of prawns given. It made for an extremely hearty meal.

Portion sizes are a bit small but the food is really tasty!! The hummus had cumin mixed in, which I did not expect but didn't mind. My favourite bit was the salad greens, raisin and hummus combination.

Also, the cashier explained to me that since everything here is dine-in only, while they do allow takeaways, 10% svc charge would still be levied - I found the inflexibility a bit odd but didn't mind so much because with the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 promo, this is still a pretty good deal.

I thought this was a very well-balanced sandwich because the cucumber slices and generous squeeze of lemon negated any unpleasant fishiness the salmon may have given. That said, I feel like the amount of food given is a bit little for its price! Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches are substantial, but I thought a bit of salad or something else on the side would have (somewhat) justified the steep price a bit better!!

Unassuming but undoubtedly delicious! Even after leaving it in the fridge for 5 hours and then warming it up in the oven, the sous vide chicken was impossibly tender and juicy. The homemade chilli sauce was also a good blend of sweet and spicy. However, something that could be better would be to add more vegetables, as the shredded carrots and cucumber slices were quite measly.

This was absolutely delicious, and is proof that healthier substitutions can be done without major compromises on taste! The substitution of white rice for quinoa was almost unnoticeable, as the quinoa grains soaked up the curry wonderfully. Even though the coconutiness of the quinoa was much milder than in traditional nasi lemak, this was compensated by the strong coconut flavour of the curry.

Something weird, however, was that my onsen egg turned out to be an onsen egg white. 😥 not sure how that happened as I'm quite sure the menu said "onsen egg"....
