Raw Favourites
Yet another of these healthy raw bowls to add to the list. At $35, this one comes with a nice chunk of uni and today was topped with alaskan crab for a bonus. The niigata rice perfectly balances everything out and I absolutely will be back for another
To the regulars at this little cosy joint, there's something which blows your mind even more than the pasta does. It's extra ordinary how toasted bruchetta loaded with uni and scampi could send me to foodie heaven. But it sure does every single time. Pretty sure this one is hidden from the menu. But be sure to request it the next time. It costs a pretty penny at about 20plus a pop but is well worth it indulgence is what you're looking for!
Food is one of life's greatest pleasures and this one is one of my absolute go tos when I feel like a splurge. Not cheap but well worth it. Though piled with rich ingredients, the balance is kept by the chopped konbu that ensures it doesn't make one feel its too gelat. A real treat!
Stumbled upon this hidden find on date night when decided to explore the quieter 4th floor at Plaza Sing Atrium and inspired by fellow burrpler reviews decided to try it out.
The uni was a really nice touch and surprisingly good for an under $30 chiraishi bowl and the juicy and fresh botan ebi was another of my favourites.
The only criticism I had with the bowl was that the slices were cut too chunky which may have taken away from the texture somewhat.
Overall, fresh fish, good price and great value.
Since the Robertson Quay branch closed its doors I find myself frequenting the one at Takashimaya more often now and my go to is always the Nagekomi Don, otherwise known as fisherman's catch or fresh catches of the day. The selection doesn't always vary too much and features the usual staples like tuna salmon, negitoro, anago and ebi but on some lucky occasions the bowl has featured shiroebi, hotate and more. The set comes with a miso soup and some chef appetisers and is filling enough to leave me in a food coma for the rest of the day. What I truly love is the mixed grain rice that delivers a different depth of flavour on its own and adds to the complexity of the clean bowl. I've been here many times and will keep returning just to sate my regular sashimi bowl cravings. At under 30 nett, its definitely a steal and for affordable than the expensive Ala Carte dinner menu!
These may be the best grilled oysters I've ever had. The flesh is creamy and succulent and its grilled to perfection. The basil is just the right tinged contrast to bring out the umami and it was like a flavour explosion in my mouth I couldn't get enough of. We started with 2 and ended up with 6 more. So good I'll be back soon! 4.25 each.
