Are We Cafe People? (No)
Both of the dishes were done in a really healthy fashion. Not my kind of dish, but jf you enjoy light and clean flavors, this might be your thing!
The salmon dish came with a seared salmon fillet atop a bed of grains. The most exciting part is when you have to pour the broth into the dish. The broth lends the dish its deep savory notes with an ocha fragrance. The key component comes from the dollop of crimson sour plum paste. It lifts the flavors of the dish and adds another another dimension to the flavor palette. Highly recommended.
The pork bowl was quite meh. I wouldn’t pay full price for it but i would say they were quite generous with the meat slices. If you dont want seafood, this would be it.
5 oz White $5.50
Prawn Aglio Olio $18
Five Oars Breakfast $25
Crowded on Sunday around noon. Cafe has a modern and cool vibe, though its a bit noisy if you sit inside, there were a few times I couldn't hear what my friend was saying when she was just seated opposite and the table wasn't very big. Food wise, portions were big and quality worth their prices. I like the pasta of the Prawn Aglio Olio, the flavours was immersed into the pasta, prawns were fresh, though the garlic could be more prominent. Overall, quite a nice place to chill but I still prefer somewhere quieter for some catch up sessions.
