the yangnyeom chicken was pretty much the only thing we liked. it was well fried & most of the pieces were real juicy. however, the seasoning was sweet with no hint of spiciness at all so we’ll probably get the spicy yangnyeom instead next time.

the burger buns were pretty decent; like all potato buns, they were on the softer & fluffier side. however they tasted a bit dry? a little like bread that had been left out for a while.

for the bulgogi burger, we couldn’t really taste the bulgogi sauce as there was so much mayo that it overwhelmed everything else. & it was a real pity that the taste of the caramelized onions (which tasted really good on it own) was not strong enough to add another dimension of taste to the burger.

the chicky burger was basically unseasoned chicken coated with an unseasoned batter sandwiched in a burger without sauce. the saving grace was that the chicken meat was juicy but don’t put yourself through the torture pls.

one of the rare food trends which really lived up to its hype 💕💕💕 absolutely loved the chicken burger; the chicken was super juicy and tender with a slight hint of spiciness to it. paired with the spicy sauce and super soft brioche bun (which reminded me of the bun that old sch western stall serves but better), i just couldn’t stop taking bites after bites. the pickled cucumber also provided the burger with a refreshing bite & what made it better was that it didn’t taste as sour and sharp as normal pickles making it more acceptable for most ppl.

the fries, biscuit and mashed potato were as good as usual. in fact, i think that popeyes have one of the best fast food fries with how crispy and well seasoned it is. & their biscuit didn’t disappoint as usual. it was a light buttery smell & the top and bottom of the biscuit had a slight crunch to it which gave the biscuit more texture. and it just tasted so damn good when paired with the strawberry jam.

the tenders were not at their best tonight; albeit under seasoned, the remaining items were so good that it didn’t make our meal any less enjoyable.

def sth that we will go back for before they’re taken off the menu.

this was a meal that left us feeling very confused. firstly, we could see a decent amount of seasoning on the louisiana rub classic wings and garlic parmesan boneless wings however, it was pretty tasteless? it’s like i can feel the grains of seasoning against my tongue, but there’s practically no taste on the chicken. somewhat like it wasn’t marinated at all and they simply threw some powder onto those wings before serving them, and the worst thing was those powders were lacking in flavor. there were a few crispy bits which dropped off for the louisiana wings and tbh, those were so well flavored and it would had been amazing if the wings tasted like that instead.

the kecap manis ones were a whole lot better. the flavor was good but a tad too sweet with a lack of spice seeing how it had a rating of three chilli. i sort of imagined it to have the spicy kick of the abc recap manis sauce but it fell a tad short.

the major saving grace had to be the chicken though. they were all so tender and juicy that we could live with dipping them in the ranch sauce that came with the meal.

the sides were okay but i had to say that i was a little disappointed with the fries after hearing raving review about it? not high on my revisit list, but apparently tappy loved the texture and juiciness of the chicken so much that he’s willing to get the chicken and dip them into other sauces instead.

the fries tasted exactly like how i remembered wendy’s one to be. the perfect balance between thick and skinny fries with the perfect crunch. def my fave fastfood fries!! (though tappy begs to differ)

loved how we can customize our toppings for the burgers & how half the toppings were cooked! five guys were generous with the toppings (the pickle fan in me was super satisfied) and they added some juiciness to the otherwise dry beef, which was a pity ‘cause every other component of the burger tasted amazing. the portions were huge & people with a regular appetite could live with ordering a mini burger if they are getting sides to share.

can i scream abt the milkshakes??? best no frills milkshake i had in years!! the taste of bananas was prevalent in every mouthful and the more we sipped, we started tasting more of the super silky peanut butter. legit wouldn’t mind having one everyday if not for my weight 🤤🤤🤤
