We were going to try Le Coq just before the Circuit Breaker but alas, before we could, dining out was no longer an option.

Thankfully, they still do takeaway during this period (and now we are moving on to Phase 2!) so we did so. We honestly didn’t have very high hopes because we weren’t eating the food there in the restaurant itself, so we were pleasantly surprised to find that everything exceeded our expectations. The Salmon Mentai Pasta ($22) featured al dente pasta tossed in a rich Mentaiko sauce alongside cubes of juicy salmon, while the Cold Truffle Somen with Hotate ($14.90) came with cold pasta, succulent slices of scallop and a dollop of caviar. Both came with an onsen egg and a side of salad and wakame seafood. They bundled up the cold onsen in a aluminium layering to keep everything fresh and cold, which we thought was a nice gesture. Fantastic quality food and we definitely will be back! We hope they manage to pull through such a tough time because it would be a shame to see them go. They are also available on Burpple Beyond!

We did takeaway for their Sichuan Egg Noodle Bento Set ($14) and Braised Pork Egg Noodle Bento set ($14) and were very pleased with how good everything tasted even though we weren’t dining in! They also sell dumpling party platters for 4 to 6 people if you want to feed your whole family. For the end of Circuit Breaker, they also will be providing 10% off all takeaway items! Tbh we are lowkey happy that we could do takeaway for this because getting a table at Dumpling Darlings is so hard; there is always such a long queue 😫 10/10 recommend!!

I am a true blue Asian who loves her dumplings with a burning passion. Feeling one of these meat-packed morsels explode in my mouth when I bite into them is one of the most euphoric feelings ever, and I can easily down over a dozen of these in one sitting. Dumpling Darlings was created for people like me and the perpetual long, snaking queues are testament to how damn good these dumplings are. They don’t sell your usual meat and chive dumplings; they have a variety of interesting and unique creations that’ll leave any dumpling lover quaking. From smoked duck dumplings to even desert dumplings (sounds weird but a bite of this will send you to heaven), you’ll be left spoilt for choice. My favourite is the Fried Pierogi Dumplings which features smoked bacon, truffle potato, caramelised onion, cheddar and sriracha cream all packed into one perfectly charred dough wrapping. If you’re like me and can’t choose, I recommend opting for their Dumpling Platter of 15 where for just $20, you get to sample all 5 of their savoury dumpling variations.
