Love the big juicy oyster pieces in the oyster omelette! But I think what’s key is also great batter- chewy and fragrant ($4)
I really enjoyed the Prawn Noodle Soup for that sizeable prawn pieces. Sadly the cleaning wasn’t to the tee, so I spotted some gunk. Broth is flavourful, but a bit more depth would have made it better none the less it’s still good stuff ($5.20- because it’s takeaway)
The wantan in the soup are so soft and chewy. I prefer thick charred cuts of char siew over the thin, rough red char siew so this was really good. However, I think the portion of noodles was quite a lot for me. Nonetheless, those with a bigger appetite will feel that this is a good portion.
You got to give their Chili paste a go! The hae bee hiam (dried shrimp paste) within it makes it so fragrant we couldn’t help ask for more. The char siu is perfectly charred, just that it could have been better if there were fattier cuts. Nonetheless, this shop is amazingly popular and we saw it close for the day by 12.30pm.
