From Chun Kee Fruit Juice. The zingy sourness was absolutely refreshing after a hot morning jog/cycle! The ice wasn’t completely crushed though, so there are some chunks of ice left in the end.
My favourite toppings were all available as I went the minute they opened. Carrots, curried chickpeas, mala broccoli were all fantastic and I highly recommend. Portion is just right as well, I feel sated and didn’t feel wanting for any dessert etc. What more can you ask for in a salad?
This might be my favourite salad on the menu! The combination of tangy salsa and creamy smashed avocado was so indulgent yet in some sense, light. I was also pleasantly surprised by the generous serving of prawns given. It made for an extremely hearty meal.
Portion sizes are a bit small but the food is really tasty!! The hummus had cumin mixed in, which I did not expect but didn't mind. My favourite bit was the salad greens, raisin and hummus combination.
Also, the cashier explained to me that since everything here is dine-in only, while they do allow takeaways, 10% svc charge would still be levied - I found the inflexibility a bit odd but didn't mind so much because with the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 promo, this is still a pretty good deal.
Unassuming but undoubtedly delicious! Even after leaving it in the fridge for 5 hours and then warming it up in the oven, the sous vide chicken was impossibly tender and juicy. The homemade chilli sauce was also a good blend of sweet and spicy. However, something that could be better would be to add more vegetables, as the shredded carrots and cucumber slices were quite measly.
This was absolutely delicious, and is proof that healthier substitutions can be done without major compromises on taste! The substitution of white rice for quinoa was almost unnoticeable, as the quinoa grains soaked up the curry wonderfully. Even though the coconutiness of the quinoa was much milder than in traditional nasi lemak, this was compensated by the strong coconut flavour of the curry.
Something weird, however, was that my onsen egg turned out to be an onsen egg white. 😥 not sure how that happened as I'm quite sure the menu said "onsen egg"....
Indeed I felt free of all guilt as I ate my lunch today! I especially enjoyed the konjac noodles, which are so springy and tasty. The other sides I ordered seemed a little all-over-the-place but I suppose that is to be expected when you choose to DIY. The pork shoulder could also be more tender.
Ordered the teriyaki chicken set with garlic butter rice and onsen egg. It also comes with shredded carrots, cucumbers and pineapples. I thought it was rather ordinary, nothing too different from what you would expect from teriyaki chicken. The garlic butter rice is extremely tasty (and indulgent), though! I think it would have paired better with fresher vegetables. The pineapples felt a bit unnecessary with this combination.
Ordered tomato oregano rice with onsen egg, and it came with pineapples, cherry tomato and broccoli. Very tasty chicken and rice! The veges were quite standard....
Chose garlic butter rice and an onsen egg for this oriental chicken set, which comes with shredded carrot, cucumbers and achar. The garlic butter rice was immensely rich and tasty, but I found myself wanting a drink after. 💦 The chicken with sesame oil was really just like chicken rice chicken - can't say I am surprised that it was as tender and juicy! Overall a very satisfying meal, but don't fool yourself into thinking that it is healthy. 😝 (unless u get the tofu option...)
