japanese
Dropped by The Gyu Co the other day for an early dinner and ordered their Mentaiko Rainbow Trout Don. As a mentaiko fan myself, I was really surprised that they gave a generous amount of mentaiko sauce (unlike many places where they just drizzle a teeny weeny bit). Recommend this dish! Affordable pricing and quite convenient (sheltered walkway all the way from Jurong East MRT) as well. Unfortunately they have limited air conditioned seating but alfresco dining works too 😄
Visited PIPES for dinner and ordered their mini salmon don as my main and their mixed soft-serve as my dessert. Pleased with the quality of the food especially the salmon sashimi - they were extremely fresh and pretty huge!! For the soft-serve, the black sesame was very rich - would recommend getting the mixed one as it was just nice! there were also crunchy things in the soft-serve that complemented the taste. Loved the ambience - very Japanese feels ◡̈ price is on the higher side though! would return to try their sake and other desserts 😄
Great ambience, service & very tasty food! Ordered 5 dishes to share with a friend - our tummy and hearts were full!!!
(1) Shukuu Tamago (Sweet Egg) - $ 3.80
(2) Ikura Don (Premium salmon roe on sushi rice) - $12
(3) Rosti Mentai (Swiss-style potato shreds with mentaiko) - $9
(4) Tori Kara-Age (Shukuu's Chicken bites, contains cheese) - $10
(5) Gyuniku Jaga (Beef with potatoes stew) - $10
Strongly recommend the beef with potatoes stew - both my friend and I loved that the most 😄
will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu ☻
