How do you make a ham & cheese croissant better?? You put kimchi in it. Made with spelt dough, house kimchi and chunky white cheddar with smoked ham, a bite into the crunchy flakey pastry would be met with a burst of flavours. The caramelised banana danish we tried was also very good - it wasn’t too sweet and it had the yummiest crumb topping. I’ve been a long time fan of the coffee from here but I’ll be coming back for more pastries!
I’ve always loved the Jewel Set Meal at Muji Cafe Jewel and I’ve missed it ever since they decided to close that outlet there. This is my first time trying another Muji Cafe - quality is pretty standard but the portions seem pretty small considering the price. Overall experience is okay.
Choice of one hot deli and one cold deli, hijiki or an onsen egg, miso soup or carrot soup and a soft roll bun or rice (16 grain or white).
Ignore my tea stain but this was a super yummy study break snack! Just some good wholesome food to fuel your brain. The teh wasn’t very good though but I guess it was still nice to have something hot after freezing in NLB.
I was quite delighted to find a new eating spot near school - a cha chaan teng serving up traditional HK treats ranging from toast, dim sum, congee, noodles and other common dishes like baked tomato pork chop rice.
Really like the chill, self-order and self-pick up style here, but it means that queues can get long during peak hours. I was happy with my bowl of noodles because I love HK yellow noodles and the dumplings were nice and crunchy. Prawn cheong fun, as seen in the background, was really soft and yummy! Would recommend for breakfast or a staple dim sum dish.
An entertaining dish served in a hot stone topped off with a “volcano”. Prepare yourself for hot steam gushing out of the spout as your ramen cooks! It’s decent ramen (I’ll put it in my “gimmicky” ramen list), but the portions are huge with lots and lots of veggies which I appreciate. They provide free eggs too and they come with gooey centres - a perfect snack while waiting for your ramen to arrive.
I’m usually quite picky with my fish, but I knew I had to try this after reading reviews of how good it was. The barramundi sits on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, drizzled generously with a herby cream sauce. The fish is fall off your fork tender with crispy skin. I loved it! The service and ambience were really lovely too. Come show your support for this social enterprise - all profits go to charity.

A vegetarian dish that is both filling and tasty! I loved how the crunchy vegetables complemented the well-marinated soy-sauce tofu. I only wished that they had provided more gochujang, one saucer is definitely not enough for a spice lover like me! I think it would be alright to ask for more, since there used to be a bottle placed at every table in pre-COVID days.
One of my favourite places when I want to eat noods!! LeNu offers a wide variety of Chinese noodles in broths that give you that comforting, satisfied feel in your belly. This was my first time trying their wantons and they were huuuuuge, filled generously with pork and different kinds of vegetables. The chilli here is more 麻 than 辣 so mala lovers would love it. I also really like their 拉面 because it’s super QQ!
The Funan outlet is special because it’s the only LeNu restaurant that offers 50% off your second bowl for both lunch and dinner!
True to the description on the menu, this kimchi pancake was made to perfection and crisp from edge to edge. It encapsulates a mix of savoury kimchi and sweet onions, garnished off with red peppers. This was one thiccc kimchi pancake (notice how it’s not pre-cut!). This one is for the ones who love crunchy pancakes!
I’ve had my share of bibimbaps that have failed to impress me because they taste like plain vegetables and rice with gochujang that overwhelms the dish with spiciness. This one surprised me because the vegetables and mushrooms were salty and juicy which went well with the gochujang that was not too spicy. I loved the spinach the most! The proportions were just right although I felt that the beef could be a little less dry.
These eggs were so delightful. Garnished with spring onion and drizzled generously with sesame oil, they were fluffy and warm from the sizzling dish and paired well with white rice. We could visibly see and hear the sizzling when the dish was served to our table!
This is my first time trying the coffee at PPP. As I’m not a regular coffee drinker and can be quite picky with my coffee, I was surprised at how smooth the coffee was! I was quite excited to try their selection of cold brews from Chye Seng Huat Hardware, but unfortunately they were sold out for the day. It was expectedly crowded for a weekend with a queue snaking outside for dine-ins. We decided to do a take-away instead, but I can’t wait to come down on a weekday where it’ll hopefully be quieter! Their selection of pastries look amazing. Do note that their take-away coffees come with a standard two shots. I’m shaking from all the caffeine in me now 😛
