Matcha Gâteau — This cake unfortunately did not sit well with me as I was not a fan of the base that tasted like kueh (I personally don’t q like kueh). The top layer of chiffon, though light and fluffy, barely had any flavour. Overall, I couldn’t really taste any matcha. The only saving grace was the white custard on top which was sweet and delicious :’)

Warabi Mochi with Matcha Gelato — I really love the mochi because they were v soft, chewy, and nicely coated with kinako powder. Matcha gelato was level 1 so it was a nice balance between sweetness and bitterness from the matcha :)

Kinako Paste with Gelato — The flavor profile of the kinako paste was q strong. It wasn’t sweet, so the Hokkaido milk gelato really helped add sweetness to the overall dish.

Overall, I still prefer their sliced cakes & tea lattes🍰🍵😋

Their mooncakes were really cute and delicious, while their mochi was soft and chewy😋 love the ice cream too

Super love the outlet at Keong Saik because the place is so beautiful !!! Dined at the 3rd level where there are tatami mats.

As usual, the food and drink were fantastic and I can’t wait to go back to Hvala again🤤😋😍

I personally feel that the outlet at Chijmes looks prettier than Somerset😍😍 Was pretty crowded on a Friday night and reservations were not allowed ):

Food wise, the Goma cake tastes the same as the one offered in Somerset’s outlet but we prefer the Matcha cake from Somerset because it was more soft!

Both ice creams were very nice though the matcha (level 3) ice cream was too rich towards the end (perfect for those who loves super strong matcha taste). In contrast, the matcha element in the matcha cookies n cream ice cream was very subtle so it’d be good for those who doesn’t want an intense matcha flavour in their ice cream :)

Hvala really won our hearts because of the food, ambience, and the aesthetics of the place❤️

The desserts were on point💯 and we absolutely love the rich, intense and distinct flavours of the cakes and tart.

Dining in the cosy Japanese tea house definitely elevates the eating experience😇🍃 Can’t wait to try out the other outlets!
