I've been here before, but this was my first time at No. 5 Emerald Hill when the sun was still up π Sitting at the bar alone, my eyes wandered around & couldn't help but notice the tank of vodka with lots of chillis in them.
Introducing.... No. 5 Emerald Hill's Grey Goose Chilli Vodka Infusion π€― The fiery red chillis sit in the vodka for 3-4 months, really lending their spicy flavour to the liquor. I had to have a shot of this or at least try at 1 of their cocktails..
.. But which one? π€ π

β’ Hi-5 ($12+) highball with soda

I intended to have just 1 drink, but was impressed by my 1st one that I had to order another. I chose the Green Hills of Africa #1935 ($17+), which has a base of rosemary-infused pisco. A refreshing turmeric & tamarind cocktail, it had citrus notes as well, which I thought was a great drink to end my night with.
I am excited to return to try the rest of their cocktail menu. Good cocktails are really growing on me lately, especially those with unique flavours which look & taste like much research, thought & effort have been put into them.

π Look for the pineapple lamp - under which that's the entrance!
Not cos you're drunk but cos the Fleeting Clouds ($13hh/$18) combined a wheaty goodness with a light sweetness that makes you feel like you're staring down at a wheat field. Very relaxing and easy to drink.

The entire place exudes an eclectic feel and the mystery surrounding it is that there is no menu at all. Your fate (and drinks) lies in the hands of both mixologists, Abhishek and Johnny. The entire laboratory setup is like a playground for both of them as they get the opportunity to experiment, brew a tonne of infused gin and concoct genius shaken beverages based on your preferences. For the drinkers, you are literally walking into Willy Wonkaβs Chocolate Factory but this time round, you can get thousands of cocktail combinations that might not even contain chocolate.

Opting for something refreshing and lighter on the palate, I was presented with a martini glass that contains a cocktail made with yanang infused gin, shakes with hibiscus and dandelion while the lady got a gin cocktail of yuzu, red date and chrysanthemums. Utilising a lot of Asian flavours, Oriental Elixir is truly a bespoke bar that is a hidden gem and a great location to kick back some drinks after a long day.

Sweet, sour, spicy, salty - all in one drink. Still very impressed by how enthusiastic the bar tenders here are!
But for me, the magic of RPM is in the absolutely flawless service and the vibe of the place.

Feeling like I had been magically transported to a basement bar in Japan, the bar was decked out with vintage vinyls. With eclectic 70's Jazz Fusion echoing in the background, the hipster in me swooned.
