Having tried quite a number of HATTENDO's desserts from Sushiro (highly recommend their pudding), I came in with pretty high expectations for their dinner selection. Glad to say they were met with their use of high quality ingredients and pleasant dining atmosphere. PIPES is located right outside Outram Park MRT, directly below DORSET hotel. My partner and I tried their Aburi A4 Wagyu Beef with Onsen dip with rice and their wagyu sando, for drinks we tried their matcha latte and their mocktail - Passionate (passion fruit and apple soda). The wagyu beef was delicious and extremely tender, I highly recommend this dish if you're a fan of beef. The beef sando made for a lovely snack, however it was slightly overcooked and a little tough. Honestly wouldn't have noticed it if my partner didn't point this out to me because overall the taste was not dampened by this.I can see myself coming back with friends for dessert or a quick tea time, they have a wide selection of coffee and their matcha latte was delicious. The food does fall on the pricey-side (the beef sando was $24 while the wagyu aburi was $22 for 120g of beef), but you pay for the quality.

Came down for dinner last Friday and tried their Ugly Cabbage with fish sauce, prawns in wasabi mayo and teo chew tau cheo sauteed fillet. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection while their prawn wasabi mayo was a delicious addition to the meal. Surprisingly, the ugly cabbage was the highlight of the meal which while being simple was very savory and pairs perfectly with plain rice. I love the atmosphere of the place and the bright colours and the cute posters really gives is nostalgic feel. The prices do fall on the steeper side, so I recommend coming down for special events or with family. The closest MRT is at Stevens, we recommend taking a bus down as the walk is quite a distance.

Do check out Fat Belly Social after a long day of work, their speciality YG black opal wagyu MS 8/9 rib cap and their wagyu ms 6/7 Zabuton was a real treat. I don't normally like beef but I'll make an exception for this as both meats were cooked to perfection and extremely tender, accompanied with their scampi butter it really makes for a very decadent sharing dish. Alongside their mains, we also opted for some sides including their crispy pork ears, grilled octopus, grilled ox tongue and their uni, lardo, caviar. I especially enjoyed their octopus, their chorizo sauce gave a lovely tangy twist alongside the fresh tender cut of octopus it definitely is one that appeals to the senses. Strongly recommend trying their crispy pork ears if you have friends that are less adventurous with spices and seafood. Overall the service was superb and within walking distance from the Telok Ayer MRT, the location is tucked away at the top of a shophouse which really helped to add to the exclusive fine dining experience.

The spacious and cozy ambiance is a great place for friends and larger groups of friends to hang, I especially like their long benches. Despite having come down on a weekday, the place was pretty crowded by 7PM thus I recommend making a reservation beforehand. I highly recommend the miso salmon which was one of the dishes I ordered for the night along with a pint of lychee kirin beer. The salmon was cooked to perfection, still rather tender and juicy without drying out. The creamy mash potatoes helped to balance and pull the dish together as a whole. My sister and I ordered the tiramisu but as they ran out that night and gave us a large waffle with a scoop of coffee ice cream instead. The staff were polite and friendly overall making the dining experience an enjoyable one. Location wise it can be a bit out of the way, thus I recommend driving or taking a cab down to the area.

A one minute walk from Outram Park, The Wine and Gourmet Friends is a quaint resutrant that is tucked away beside Dorsett Singapore. I opted for the Set Lunch ($30) with 3 courses - Truffle Cambert, Iberico "Bah Kut Teh" Risotto and the Olong Ice Cream. My sister opted for the Crab and Uni Risotto. The Bah Kut Teh risotto was absolutely delicious with a traditional creamy risotto acting as a base to the roasted, juicy pork bone ribs. The Bah Kut Teh twist to the risotto adds a pleasant teochew twist that elevates the typical risotto. The truffle camembert was also an experience that I highly recommend those interested in the Chartreuse experience to try out as its small size still allows you the taste the depth of flavours of the mildly sweet, savoury and nutty without being overwhelmed by the typical size of a chartreuse board. To end off the meal, I opted for the Olong ice cream which had a rich bitterness of tea to compliment the sweet cream. Definitely recommend trying it out if you're not interested in having their savoury options.
