Been craving a good grilled cheese and I had the best variation of it.
I had Amber Ember’s “cheezus loves you” jaffle. A jaffle is a brioche pressed in a cast iron, typically found in Australia. If you’re a blue cheese fan, this is a must-have. It is the perfect balance of flavours deriving from an indulgent combination of ingredients such as Gruyère, emmental, mozzarella, blue cheese mayonnaise, caramelised onions and a balsamic glaze. It also comes with a side of rocket or tapioca chips.

Pretty average Eggs Hemingway and the sourdough was really hard to cut and eat. The outlet is still currently in its soft launch phase so I’ve no doubt they’ll improve on it!

Heard good things about SLATE so I went to give it a go. I ultimately picked the sideways omelette, which was one of the most expensive items but its menu description sounded so good.
When I took a bite of the omelette, I experienced a firm but fluffy exterior. As I worked towards the centre, it’s a tad gooey and runny, which is how I love my breakfast omelettes! With the filling, the omelette is packed with handpicked lump blue swimmer crab meat and smoked crab fat. It definitely tasted luxurious and furthermore it was sizeable so the price tag seemed worth it! The omelette is topped with tobiko and served with a side of snow pea shoots and carrot salad to break the egg-iness if needed.
Will definitely be back to try more dishes!
