SG Char Kway Teow Trail…
Been awhile since I had this Char Kway Teow and I’m happy to report that its standard is still gold! Wok hei is very prominent in each bite of the noodles, while the sweet and smoky lup cheong paired so well with the fresh cockles! All this for only $4 per plate too – look at that generous portion! All in all, a plate of Char Kway Teow worthy of all the calories!
Finally checked this char kway teow off my hawker to try list! We queued for around 1 hour for our food (cos uncle meticulously fry each plate of noodles one at a time), and I must say it was totally worth the wait (and calories too)! I dare say this is one of the best char kway teows I’ve tried so far in Singapore! My plate of char kway teow was moist and flavourful, with a very strong wok hei plus generous portions of everything (plump cockles, fried pork lard, noodles etc)! Simply delicious, I’ll be back again for sure!
Ranked as one of the best char kway teows in Singapore, this stall always has a long queue at Zion Food Centre. The portion is definitely generous; with a good amount of fishcake, beansprouts, chinese sausage, pork lard and fresh cockles! Overall the taste is really yummy; it has a right balance of sweet and savoury filled with a strong wok hei flavour. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area and have time to spare (cos of the long waiting time).
Not the best char kway teow (not in my top 5 at least) but certainly one of the better ones i’ve tried.
It was a joy watching the elderly couple in action, with the friendly aunty taking orders and the uncle frying each plate of char kway teow with gusto. Come support them before they are gone for good eventually.
For me a good plate of char kway teow must have a strong wok hei taste, and they do it very well here. Each sinful wok hei laden plate is loaded with cockles & lap cheong (chinese sausages); certainly worth the calories in my opinion.
This remains my all time favourite char kway teow in Singapore. Mouthfuls of sinful goodness accompanied by just the right amounts of lard crisps, fresh cockles and chinese cured sausage slices. Magical concoction of complex flavours!

I've never really tried the peneng version of char kway teow before, and i was totally blown away by how good this plate of char kway teow was!
Was looking through Facebook and saw many food bloggers recommending this particular char kway teow, so decided to try today.
Verdict: One of the best i've tried in Singapore so far, every bite is full of wok hei taste, a definite must try!
