Come by Al Mahboob if you need to get your Indian rojak cravings fixed. Despite visiting during odd hours, it was a long wait due to takeaways. They offer a wide variety of ingredients and they refry them all before serving. The best thing to come for is their sweet and savoury peanut sauce made from more than 10 ingredients. The rich and thick peanut sauce is flavourful with hints of spiciness. Be prepared to brave the long wait during peak hours and I would definitely not advise coming with a hungry stomach 》$10.40

This place is famous for its cheap and good crispy prata draped in croissant-like flakiness. The prata is buttery, not too oily, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. You know their prata is crispy when it’s crackling while using utensils to tear it apart. Each order is accompanied by tangy fish curry and sugar sprinkles if you request them. This has got to be one of the better prata stalls out there so be prepared to wait as the queue can get quite long on weekends.

Aside from roti prata, the butter chicken and garlic naan are my to-order dishes. The oven-baked garlic naan was fragrant and yummy. The butter chicken comes with tender chunks of chicken in thick and well-flavoured masala. It was so good that I couldn't help but dip the naan and prata to go with masala.

Crispy plain prata served with curry and sambal tumis is a great combination. The prata are freshly prepared upon order and fried in a pool of oil which results in a crispy and fluffy prata. The exteriors are crackling crispy with soft and fluffy fillings inside which makes fork tearing the prata so easy. I would easily say this is one of the best roti prata especially in the east 👍

Getting a table might be a challenge during the peak hours and it can be crowded especially at night but the wait was all worth it!

The coin prata set comes with 6 pcs of hot and fragrant coin prata that is crispy and crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. What’s good about these coin prata is they weren’t overly oily and their fish curry is good and savoury with a hint of sweetness and sourness. I like to have my prata the traditional way, dipping my kosong prata in sugar or a combination of sugar and curry.

It was around a 10mins wait on an early weekday morning before heading to work. The crispy plain prata is still going for just $1. Dhal or mutton curry is given by default but you can request fish curry or even sambal chilli to add more flavours and kick to your prata.

This has been my usual visit over the years ever since I moved to the North-East. It always comes to my mind when it comes to having prata in the morning for breakfast or late night supper. The plain prata here are done up to my expectations with a very crispy exterior while retaining the soft and chewy texture inside.

Plaster Prata
Basically egg prata but instead of having the egg inside, it is done sunny-side-up style on top of the prata 》$1.70

Roti Bomb
A coiled and thicker version of the regular prata with margarine and sugar hidden beneath the layers. Due to the layering and thickness of this prata, the outside is cooked till brown and crispy while the inside is still soft and chewy 》$2.20

Came here on a late night to fill our growling bellies. Although not as crispy as expected, the prata were nicely flipped with soft and fluffy inside parts. They also serve pretty gao (thick) milo over here.

This bowl of mee siam is too sweet for my taste buds. I prefer my mee siam to have a balance of sweet and sour. Available only on weekends. Heard that their nasi padang and chilli is good though 》$3 + $0.80 Begedil

Finally paid Mr and Mrs Mohgan a visit on a wet and rainy weekday morning for breakfast. We waited for about 15-20 mins upon ordering which was not that bad compared to weekends. The assam fish curry goes very well with the pratas and not forgetting to indulge in their sambal chili with anchovies too! Definitely a very satisfying breakfast on a cold and rainy morning over buttery and crispy prata.

Curry Chicken + 2 Plain Prata + Teh》$6.10

The prata came quite big and crispy. 2pcs prata of this size simply leads to a weekday-after-lunch food coma. It would be even better if the curry chicken is served warm/hot and with lesser chilli oil please.

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
