Pasta π
Other than their duck confit, the salmon was cooked perfectly with skin seared till crispy and flesh still moist and juicy. Each main comes with a choice of aglio olio or mashed potato along with coleslaw and grilled corn cob γ$11
Well-seasoned, tender and succulent duck confit served with a choice of aglio olio or mashed potato along with coleslaw and grilled corn cob at a pocket-friendly price.
The duck confit here is comparable to those served at French bistros. I chose to go with aglio olio which comes with lots of garlic. This slow-cooked goodness comes with a beautifully crisp exterior and fork-tender duck meat while retaining a firm bite γ$13
Spaghetti cooked with homemade chilli crab sauce and curry leaves, presented with a crunchy soft shell crab on top. The pasta was al-dente with a chewy bite. The sauce was done with the right amount of sweetness and a tinge of spiciness γ$18.90
Al dente capellini pasta tossed in rich flavours of shio kombu, white wine and layu (chilli oil), topped with aburi scallops and ikura. This dish is rich in umami flavours from the shio kombu and ikura. The aburi scallops were nicely seared and the use of chilli oil added some spicy kick to it γ$24
A mixture of linguine, prawns, clams and squid cooked in aglio olio style. This is much lighter in flavour as compared to their tomato-based pasta. It was a little salty towards the end and I prefer it to have more garlic fragrance and some spicy kick γ$7.50
The linguine was cooked firm to the bite with crunchy prawns, clams and squid tossed in spicy tomato sauce. It has a strong tomato base that was not as spicy as I thought. It may be a good option for kids or those who have a lower tolerance for spicy food γ$7.50
It came with generous chunks of grilled prawns, pine nuts and fragrant pesto sauce topped with parmesan cheese.β£ It has a well-balanced richness and a satisfying savoury flavour. The pine nuts add a nice texture as well as a mild nutty flavour. I would recommend getting the al-dente handmade tagliatelle that was well coated with the strong yet not overpowering pesto sauce.

From beetroot to pumpkin and now we have the blueberry tagliatelle to go with the vongole pasta with dashi, mirin, sake, garlic, ginger, bonito flakes & cloudy bay clams. Compared to the other flavours that I have tried, the vongole is a contrast where the broth is light yet rich with sweetness from the clams and some alcoholic kick. I thought this was a good choice to balance the heavy flavours of other pastas we ordered.

Made with vodka, bacon, bird's eye chilli, crushed tomatoes, cream & Parmigiano. I chose to have the tube-shaped pumpkin rigatoni to go with this flavour which goes really well with the thick and rich sauce. Similar to the other flavoured pasta, the taste of pumpkin was too subtle. I would just ignore the flavour of the pasta and consider my choice of pasta based on shape and texture to fit the different sauce/flavours for ordering.

I chose to have beetroot fusilli to go along with pan-seared scallops, topped with shredded nori and wasabi tobiko for that extra burst of flavour. Scallops were plump and nicely seared. The mentaiko sauce is light, creamy and coated the fusilli well but I couldnβt taste the flavours of beetroot in my beetroot pasta. This fared so much better than the truffle cacio e pepe but prices are a little steep which I feel is only worth trying with the Beyond deal.

I had a cheese and pepper pasta made with fusilli lunghi in secret pepper mix, Parmigiano, Pecorino Romano cheese & truffle oil. The pasta is freshly made and cooked al-dente. The cheesy and creamy sauce however tastes quite one-dimensional with the taste of pepper overpowering the taste of cheese and truffle. Prices are a little steep but worth trying with the Beyond deal.

Linguine is done al-dente with garlic confit, prawn stock and XO sauce, accompanied by fresh and succulent prawns, edamame and birdβs eye chilli. The XO sauce was flavourful and not too overwhelming and I like how the prawns were deshelled for convenience γ$29

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
