Western 🍔 🥩
Brotzeit is not only famous for its pork knuckles. It has seasonal menus that celebrate the German tradition. The Spring menu in April featured the White Asparagus which is the king of vegetable for the Germans. We tried the white asparagus soup which was sweet and creamy!
We tried the lobster linguine, the mac & cheese and the cheesesteak sliders for dinner. I enjoyed the lobster linguine but the meat portion could be more generous. The sides like the sliders are slightly overpriced as well considering the portion. I was expecting a lot from the mac and cheese based on the good reviews but it was just alright for me- nothing special or noteworthy to bring to the table.
I tried the Texan burger, easily distinguished by the large crispy onion rings as well as the Mexican buffalo wings with blue cheese. We wanted to try the famous shakes like Cotton Candy Shake and Cake shake but our stomachs were already too full from the burgers and wings. The food was excellent (I can hardly decide which was better- burger, fries or the wings) but the portion was quite big for small eaters like us- maybe can share between 2 pax for 1 burger next time so that there is some room for dessert. 😝
We tried the classic burgers with crinkle fries at Shake Shack. We visited the Jewel outlet after the hype died down and there was less crowd by then. As usual, the burger did not let down and the crinkle fries is a must-have! Unlike other outlets in Singapore, only the Jewel outlet serves a localised menu that includes Pandan flavour shakes.
