Here is our platter of half a dozen oysters featuring a pair from three different French varieties. We left it to the discretion of our server to pick the combination. I must be getting old because although she did an introduction, I can't recall their names...
Regardless, it's good to know that Culina's shucks them fresh (and for free) upon order. These tasted fine but as I'm not overly fond of briny oysters, the creamy ones I had at "Oceans of Seafood" a couple of months ago remain my favourite.
Heard so much about this place and was glad to have the chance to finally try the dishes. It was truly a memorable dinner! We had the Fresh Italian Burrata Cheese - light, smooth and savoury with a touch of vinegar and basil.
For the mains, we went with the Full-Blood Wagyu Denver. Cooked to an almost melty texture with an even distribution of fats. Next was the Auskobe Wagyu Deckle, similarly very juicy but slightly less fatty than the previous. And of course who can forget about dessert! Their Basque Burnt Cheesecake was truly unique! Every mouthful was enjoyable and it wasn't cloying at all. Even contemplated another dessert but decided against it :p Would definitely be back again to try their other cuts and sides :)
My friend and I ordered this $70 set (1-1 Burpple deal) at this cosy and quaint French restaurant. Tried the onion soup 🧅 and escargot 🐌 . Both are yummy. They also provided bread which was baked by themselves, it was good - soft on the inside and crispy outside. Wished the balsamic sauce in the olive oil was more.
From the folks behind now-defunct The Betterfield and The Bettership; put aside The Betterfield into the past, for Steakville (at Sunshine Plaza) goes back to the roots of The Betterfield when they had initially started — a spot for no-frills, quality fare at affordable prices.
The Signature Hanger Steak is well-executed; done to medium-rare (which is our specified preference for the order), the steak comes with a crusty exterior and beautiful pinkish centre. While we were told that the steak carries a just a very slight hint of gaminess, the gaminess was barely detectable; tender and juicy, while the flavours were enhanced with the sprinkle of Maldon Seasalt at the side. Very delicious, and very value-for-money indeed at the quality it comes at!
my go to orders!!! real tasty even when packed to go. tiramisu is great too (and durian tiramisu is a must order during the season, tho a tad pricey)
