Desserts my fave meal of the day
Thick and creamy, really tasted similar to a gelato version of banana smoothie. You don't really see banana-flavoured desserts commonly and this was done perfectly! Great for banana lovers and also recommended for those who want to try something new!
Always love Butterknife Folk's creativity with new tastes and flavours and I'll make it a point to drop by every few weeks to see what's new. Kudos to their innovativeness 👍🏻
Oolong flavour was true to its name, but perhaps could be a tad too sweet for some. Right now there's a promo where if you leave a Google review you can redeem a free scoop. We did that and got the Pistachio which was nicely nutty but also a tad sweet. A pity they were out of mochi for the night.
Creamy, decadent, savoury with a hint of sweetness from the caramelised top, distinctively cheesy yet not overpowering...I could go on and on but I'll encourage everyone to try this for yourselves. You might not like it, you might love it, but either way this cheesecake-tart is a unique rendition unlike the usual Japanese or American style around. Top notch.
The latest waffle specialty to hit my feed, this was every bit as good as everyone has made it out to be. Slightly crisp waffles encasing strips of nian gao, it was sweet, chewy, and a perfect pairing with the honey caramel drizzle. Range of ice cream flavours were also wonderfully unique, perfect for those who love tea or those who just want to try something unique. Went with Tie Guan Yin in the end which honestly tasted pretty normal but still, will return for the others. total was $11.30 for nian gao waffles with a scoop.
Warabimochi was perfectly soft and chewy, a nice accompaniment to the gelato. We chose to add on a dollar for the premium Caramelised Sobacha - oatmilk gelato with soba bits which lent a nice texture.
Single scoop $6, Double scoop $9
Black sesame mochi was rich and creamy, and Black Glutinous Rice was equally impressive and very true-to-flavour. Only warning is that the black sesame is very strong and overpowered the mildness of the black glutinous rice.
They have a range of interesting LNY specials now (think Love Letter, Mandarin, Pineapple Tart) which I will definitely return for.
Lychee Rose (back, $9) wowed visually and fortunately tasted as good as it looks. Those with a sweet tooth would surely love the generous lychee bits and lychee cremeus, completed by the rose ganache.
Citrus Earl Grey (front, $9) was both zesty and refreshing, and the tangy orange jelly complimented the earl grey infused creme unexpectedly well.
Love this! Mix of Thai Milk Tea and Green Milk Tea, each flavour was rich and creamy.
Poached Pear Walnut - pasty sorbet consistency, didn't really enjoy this but the pear flavour shone through (not the walnut though)
Sencha - this was great, loved this! definitely a must-tey for tea lovers.
$3.90 per scoop, +$1 for premium flavours, +$1.50 for mochi
Croffle as flakey and the variety of ice cream flavours were extensive and interesting. Try their Moutai ice cream if you like alcoholic flavours¡
Comes with a scoop of ice cream - we chose pistchio. Brownie was rich and dense, paired well with the nutty pistachio.
TMC's Dunlop outlet felt slightly cramp if you compare it to their Bussorah or Esplanade joints, but their cakes were still on point. Had the Putu Piring cake slice, which was generously sprinkled with coconut gratings and filled with luscious palm sugar syrup. Slightly diabetes-inducing but what a good way to end off the night.
