Ordered the Salmon Spaghetti and the restaurant very kindly changed the spicy sauce to cream sauce for me as I’m unable to take spicy.
The pasta was al dente. However, the cream sauce was sweet and light. The salmon was a little dry. Would expect the skin to be crispy and the inside to be cooked to medium.
The bill came to around $20 per pax after the discount for a main and a drink.
Ordered two pastas: Crab and Lobster Pasta and Garlicky Prawn Linguine
Enjoyed the Garlicky Prawn Linguine! The pasta was al dente and the garlic gave the pasta a very nice aroma and flavor. King prawn was small though. Would recommend ordering their other garlicky oil or aglio olio pasta and skip the prawns as the prawn pasta cost more.
Didn’t like the Crab and Lobster Pasta as the cream sauce was diluted and there were only a few small pieces of crab and lobster.
Ordered two mains and a soup: XO Sticky Back Ribs, Salted Egg Chicken Linguine and a Lobster Bisque Soup.
XO Sticky Back Ribs was flavourful, tender and has good amount of fats. I was impressed with this dish.
The Salted Egg Chicken Linguine (in the photo), however, was extremely disappointing. The pasta was very soft, the texture was almost like “mian xian”. We feedback to the restaurant and they very kindly changed it. The second plate was the same - we figured perhaps the kitchen can’t do al dente pasta. We only ate a few mouths as it was that bad.
Lobster bisque soup tasted like can soup. Wouldn’t recommend it.
We ordered 4 mains - Carbonara, Laksa pasta, Mentaiko fish & chips and buttermilk chicken burger. All of their food were surprisingly presentable and Instagrammable! Plus point!
The pastas were average although we felt the laksa pasta was better than the Carbonara. I liked the Mentaiko on top of the fish & chips. The buttermilk chicken burger was great! Chicken was chunky and juicy. Brioche was buttery and soft.
Would definitely recommend this place as the cost per pax after all that indulgence was just slightly more than $10. The ambience was chill and very pretty.
Ordered two pastas:
Beef shank pasta (in the photo) was average. Beef was slightly tough, and did not melt in the mouth.
Duck confit pasta was slightly better. Duck was flavourful.
Cafe is located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood.
Ordered two pastas:
The first was handmade squid ink pasta paired with Mentaiko sauce (in the photo) as I wanted long pastas and there were only two options. The other was spicy. Mentaiko sauce was a little too light for the black pasta and I couldn’t quite taste it. :(
The second pasta was the pumpkin rigatoni with pasta alla vodka sauce. Good mix of cream and tomato, and the pasta was al dente.
Food took around 20 to 30 minutes to be served. Refer to the reviews below on the pricing for full portions. Burpple deals are for tasting portions only.
Two full portion of pastas came to around $16 per pax.
