casual dinner
after many years... this still tastes as good as it did in 2015!! got their classic salted egg chicken rice + egg ($6.50) and i love how their sauce is still as creamy and sweet! chicken remained crispy throughout, although if you prefer those with stronger salted egg taste this isnt for you!
food here is super affordable and mains are all under $14! i got the pesto chicken pasta ($9.90) and this was a steal for its price! pesto sauce was nutty and herb-y enough, except i would have liked more sauce as it got slightly dry nearing the bottom. chicken breast was nicely seared with good seasoning, it wasnt too dry and was slightly crispy at the bases! can see why this place is always packed with students
a mix of rose, raspberries and lychee, this queen ispahan was my favourite dessert there! there were so many layers to this dessert - lychee jelly, sponge cake, raspberry bavaroise and rose cream that all went really well together! it was sour and sweet, and super light on the palate
trued the kaya crossaint ($5) and this was very flakey and crispy with good local flavour! they were super generous with the kaya! i also got the pear crumble danish ($5) which i loved - pear crumble was not too sweet yet ticked off all the boxes of a good crumble, and it coated each mouthful nicely! danish below was flakey as well, and remained crispy for a long time
i got their sous vide chicken breast ontop of mashed potatoes and grilled corn (17.9)! the chicken was very tender and lightly flavored, and their mash was smooth! i liked how there were bits of hazelnut which added an extra crunch, and their corn was well buttered and charred!
we got the signature 3 bowls - oyster mee sua, sesame oil chicken rice and lu rou fan, along with brown sugar bubble fresh milk included in the set (19.9)! my favourite was the sesame oil chicken, as the rice was well flavoured and oily enough HAHA tasted like shallots and the chicken was very flavourful!! the other two were normal, tasted authentic
with 30% off, this dish was super worth!! salmon was thick and juicy, not overcooked and went really well with the miso carbonara! served ontop mashed potatoes, this dish was really filling and enjoyable
with 30% off these drinks, it was super super worth!! i got the honey grapefruit and strawberry lime and both were super refreshing and not too sweet!
this seems so unassuming but i was wow-ed upon taking a bite.... the veggies were fried to perfection, not oily yet super crispy and was seasoned lightly! topped with thick mentaiko sauce, this made an excellent, tasty starter while being slightly guilt free cuz its veggies LOL
with 30% off everything this place is extremely affordable and serves food of excellent quality!! i always get their chicken overload - crispy panko chicken ontop of mashed potatoes and mushroom soup, this combi goes super well together and is very filling!!
this dish sounded interesting and tasted interesting - think truffle oil + sliced cheese + runny egg ontop of chapagetti! the first bite was good, but after that the noodles got cold and clumpy really fast as it was slightly dry when it came:( would have wished for more sauce as they were already sticking to each other at the start, in addition to the cheese hardening... get this to share as its slightly surfeiting and eat it fast!
this bibimbap ($12) tasted authentic, packed full with ingredients! i loved how they provided sauce on the side so you can customize the spice to your liking
