Walking past The House Chungdam, you would never have guessed that it’s a place for Korean Barbecue. The interior is Scandinavian styled, bright and spacious, with no ugly exhaust hoods towering over the tables. What is even more delightful is that there isn’t any smoke stale smell lingering around as you enter, and you don’t leave the place smelling like smokey bacon. Definitely a plus for all ladies.
We ordered house feast #3 for our lunch. It comes with steamed eggs that was really umami and Soy Bean soup with extremely generous portions of beef cubes and tofu. The soup is definitely my kind of comfort food.
The staff helped us with the cooking, shared with us on the different cuts of the Spanish pork used by the restaurant and the various type of sauces to go with the meat. My preferred way is still having just the meat with some salt, so I can really taste the fresh meat.
The portion of food given is just nice for 2 pax without the need to order any more carbo to fill you up. Overall, a highly recommended place to enjoy a delicious Korean BBQ in glam.
This Moo Ping smoked pork ribs is bound to send you over the moon. The ribs are nicely charred on the surface but yet tender and moist. The flavoring is so good to eat on the ribs on its own. The accompanying tangy spicy sauce and Glutinous rice complements the ribs well. Absolutely a delight.
Ordered Tobiko Prawn Ball & prawns Prawn Mee and ngor hiang (prawn fritters and you tiao). The broth is full of umami that does not leave you thirsty. Prawns are already partially de-shelled so it’s really easy to enjoy them with minimal dissecting work required. Tobiko in the prawn balls adds to the crunch texture. Prawn fritters and you tiao are crispy and not oily as you bite into the dough. The sauce is surprisingly good without being too spicy.
