Feasting In BKK
Almost missed out on this experience cos I didn't think the fried chicken could be worth traveling for. Well, if you love fried chicken, you should definitely try this. So tender and moist, it's very unexpected. Topped with addictive garnish of fried garlic and onion, you just can't stop. Order 1 whole chicken to share, we made the mistake of trying to share half...
Yea you might think why get a burger in BKK? Well cos it's just damn bloody good and only 169 baht (6sgd) for a well charred patty cooked medium, with onions, cheese, bacon and veg. Hailed as one of BKK's best burger, served steaming hot out of a food truck? Hell yes thank you I'll be back for more.
Along Sukhumvit Soi 38 runs one of the best stretches for one-stop street food fix. In the first tiny alley on the right is Blazing Pad Thai, each portion lovingly cooked over the biggest fire I've ever seen. Don't miss this!
Can't wait to have this dish again. Creamy tom yum pasta that I didn't think would be that great turned out to be superb. Look at those huge prawns too! The space was really lovely.
Just outside Terminal 21 next to the 711, a small spot for chicken noodles where I like to have lunch. Simple and comforting broth with lovely al dente noodles. 45 baht.
Seriously?! Cold vanilla cream made from real vanilla beans ooze out of this warm brioche donut when you split it... I'll be having dreams of this.
A portobello burger to die for. Never had such a good brioche bun in a burger before, and this combination of portobello, cheese, egg and bacon is brilliant. Only available on weekends!
Fantastic recommendation from Tastenmaker Bill Rith - this was mind blowing. Looks innocent, but it packs a huge punch. The brioche was well-soaked with egg, and the cooked-down berries were bursting with flavor. So simple, so damn good.
It was so difficult choosing which pastries to sample! We ended up ordering the mushroom brioche, bacon and cheese, matcha almond croissant and the brown sugar cinnamon croissant. They were all better than expected, this place is a must try if you love your pastries!
Beautiful croissants, one of the better ones had. Apparently these and the ones at Amatissimo are deemed the best in BKK - we'll know which is better when we try the latter tmr! One thing's for sure though - I've never tasted jam this good.
A definitely must try when you come to BKK!
