No LAMBorghini but LAMB is good enough for me! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Introducing to you Little Sheep Hot Pot, a famous hotpot chain in China known for its charming soup base made from 36 spices as well as Mongolian lamb delicacies! ๐Ÿ’• After setting foot in Singapore with its first outlet at One Fullerton in Dec 2018, @littlesheephotpotsg has recently opened its 2nd outlet at @orchardgatewaysg! ๐ŸŽ‰
Their White Soup base really whets my appetite as it was rich & flavourful! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ It is not difficult to tell that it is ็œŸๆๅฎžๆ–™ from the chockful of ingredients in the broth such as garlic cloves, ginger, star anise etc. ๐Ÿ’ฏ The mala soup was loaded with dried chilli, peppercorn & some chilli oil, rendering a spicy kick! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
As their name suggests, be sure not to give their lamb rolls a miss! โœ” Besides scoring on presentation from the whimsical dry ice ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜, these extremely thinly-sliced lamb rolls are so delicate & tender! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Certainly goes well with the mala soup base as the spice ๐ŸŒถ will mask some of the gamey taste of the meats. If lamb is not your thing, you can go for their Black Pork slices ๐Ÿ– which are equally succulent! ๐Ÿคค
Another of their specialty has got to be the ready-to-eat lamb skewers! ๐ŸŒŸ Feast on these well-marinated & heavily-spiced meats while they are hot! ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป
Of course, you canโ€™t go wrong with perennial favourites like fresh seafood (prawns ๐Ÿฆ, baby squid ๐Ÿฆ‘, mussels, fish ๐ŸŸ & scallops), vegetables ๐Ÿฅฌ & mushrooms ๐Ÿ„, as well as other add-ons (highly recommend their dumplings ๐ŸฅŸ & Fuzhou meatballs ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป)!
Help yourself to free-flow condiments (customise your own sauce ๐Ÿ˜Ž), fruits ๐Ÿ‰ & vanilla soft serve ๐Ÿฆ to end your meal on a sweet note! Props to the prompt service by the very attentive & helpful crew too! At about $50 per pax, this will surely be a satisfying & indulgent meal! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Had the yuanyang pot. The meats were fresh but personally I donโ€™t like the soup base as theyโ€™ve added too much spices (my guess is cumin). Their grilled lamb skewers (not in picture) tasted really good.

3 of us paid around $80 each.

Made a trip to the newly opened Little Sheep Hot Pot, although we had a reservation for 4 at 7pm, I was given a queue number to wait and asked if I only wanted a table indoors or if I was ok outdoors. There was pleasant weather today and the view outside is pretty spectacular since One Fullerton faces MBS and you get a gorgeous view of the city skyline, as well as the River Angbao, iLight and Prudential MBC during this time of the year. I only got a table at 7.20pm but thatโ€™s not too bad.

We opted for the signature soup base made with chicken and beef bone and the spicy soup base for old times sake (used to have their packaged soup bases with my university friends in winter time in Australia). Surprisingly, the soups were chock full of garlic and spices. They were flavourful, and the non-spicy signature soup base was more peppery than the packaged one. The spicy one was not very spicy at all, but came packed with chillies. This definitely canโ€™t hold a candle to HDL ma la base as thereโ€™s no ma or la feeling at all. In fact, this soup is perfectly drinkable although I would advise against it as thereโ€™s probably a fair bit of MSG (all of us that drank the soups felt super thirsty after). Thereโ€™s also a tomato soup base which we wouldโ€™ve tried, but you can only order 2 soup bases here so we had to skip it this time.

I would recommend ordering the spicy base if you intend to order some lamb meat. I guess Mongolians eat a lot of lamb meat, and the spices in the spicy base are essential in masking the strong smell of lamb (especially in the fattier cuts). I didnโ€™t enjoy the fattier lamb shabu (which was in the middle tier in the picture), but the leaner cuts were quite manageable for me. Two of my friends were enjoyed the fattier cuts though. We ordered the beef and lamb platter and it was pretty good although we couldnโ€™t tell which meat was what at just a glance. Their menu also doesnโ€™t describe what meats they are providing (vague description: 2 parts of lamb and 2 parts of beef). I found the beef cubes in the platter quite enjoyable, although some cubes were almost 90% fat, the others remained soft and flavourful after being thrown into the hotpot for a few minutes.

Only the winter melon and lime juice drinks are refillable and go for $6.90. Water costs $0.80. Condiments (with complimentary desserts) cost $5 per pax, which we decided to skip this round.

I would probably not order the lamb shabu if I ever made a return trip. In addition, I would reconsider even making a return trip as it is pretty expensive. For the amount of meat we ordered, the bill might be slightly cheaper than HDL (~$58 per pax with service charge) but the service is also not as great as HDL as the staff arenโ€™t attentive and donโ€™t give personal service. I would probably be better off just buying the soup base from the supermarket and savouring my own hotpot at home without fear of being rushed to leave the table or facing unfriendly waitstaff.

Signature Lamb Kebab

Taste good but the meat is too tough and chewy.

Original white soup + Spicy mala soup
3-tier signature lamb platter, tiger prawns, fried beancurd roll, white cabbage, enoki mushroom

Love the lamb platter, the lamb slices have good fat to meat ratio and not much of the gamey taste. The soup and other ingredients are decent, just not too happy to pay $5 for only two pieces of white cabbage leaf.

As the name suggests, this place specialises in lamb. Slightly pricey but quality is not bad, decent variety, and the environment was nice.
