A quaint little coffee shop selling freshly baked tau sar piahs and cakes.
We love their sweet tau sar piah and their butter cake is light and fluffy!

Balestier is not only famous for the Bak Kut Teh, but it’s also a famous street for Tau Sar Piah. Having tried all the tau sar piah along the street, Loong Fatt is still my all-time fav. Hands down the best Tau Sar Piah I’ve ever had! They only have two flavors, salted/sweet tau sar. I preferred the salted tau sar. If you haven’t tried their tau sar piah, what are you waiting for? There’s always a long queue during lunch. Go aft 3 pm, no queue. Lol~

They say good things are worth the wait and I can’t agree more for these tau sar goodness. Thin buttery flaky crust that crumbles upon impact, with a consistent and not overly gao tau sar filing within. Washed down with a nice cup of homemade coffee. I can repeat this all afternoon.

Definitely worth the queue for this box of sweet tau sar piah goodness.

I daresay LOONG Fatt is the BEST tau sar piah in Singapore - any challengers? 😉

Serving the residents of Balestier (& nation-wide) is Loong Fatt ❤❤❤, whose traditional Teochew pastries are handmade & freshly-baked in-house daily so you are always guaranteed a fresh pastry! 👌🏻

As I sank my teeth into this delicate flaky pastry ($0.80/piece), I can’t help but exclaim how divine it was - everything just gelled so harmoniously together! 🥰🥰🥰 It’s utterly surprising how gratifying this small piece of piah can be! 👍🏻
.
The flaky crust exudes an irresistible buttery fragrance, probably attributable to the pork lard used. 🤤🤤🤤 It might not be the healthiest snack but it sure elevated the taste of the pastry! 💕
.
You can choose between sweet or salty for the mung bean filling but I went with sweet, as recommended by many others. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻 It was dense, packed tightly within this small pastry but still smooth & delightful! 💯 Together with the nice crunch of the pastry & topped with aromatic white sesame seeds, this makes my favourite tau sar piah! 😋😋😋

Loong Fatt is certainly the place to go to when I’m missing an old-school treat! ✔ The snake-long queues speak for themselves. 😊

The best Tau Sar Piah i have eaten.

I ate the salty version. Freshly baked traditional chinese pastry with green bean paste. The pastry is flaky, crispy and not too sweet. (S$0.80/pc) Very different from other tau sar piah. Recommend👍 Must try!
