Back for CKT fix and sad to hear one of the red hat aunties met with an accident and has not been frying CKT for a while.
Finally tried the famous Lorong Selamat Char Kuay Teow, and luckily there wasn't much wait/ queue at the stall. Each plate comes with 3 large and fresh prawns and full of 'wok hei'. A note that they are slightly inconsistent with the amount of chillies added, as a few plates was too spicy that we couldn't taste much of the char Kuay Teow, while some plates with less or specifically ordered without chillies tasted way better.
Finally satiated my PFKT craving from months back. Trekked all the way here under the hot sun because I refused to take a cab within Georgetown. This was fried by the famous red hat lady using charcoal fire. Looks at those huge prawns and large pieces of lard!
What better way to start by having street food.

Famous Penang char kway teow fried over charcoal fire. The old auntie with sweeping strokes using only her right hand to toss the kway teow.. she fries plate by plate even if your order is more than 2 plates.

Big prawns huge and crunchy with fresh cockles and chinese sausage. Spicy enough to break a sweat. Best of all, there was a whole lot of wokhei!! This is the real deal.

The very 1st eatup of my culinary journey here. More goodies to come.
