The ambience at Lucali was 👌 great service and great vibes. I can't decide if I feel like I'm at a pool (with the giant clock in the middle) or science lab with the service hosts wearing lab coats. The pizza came piping hot and had a great acidic punch from the tomatoes, and freshness from the basil. The texture was almost chewy (in a good way) and we had no problem wolfing down the entire pie. ($55)
The plate consisted a couple of biscuits, chillies and several slices of ham. Interesting mix of flavours, but nothing to rave about. ($22)
The famed item in the menu is without a doubt, their pizza and true to the original restaurant, the current menu only contains a single pizza item, the Our Original 18” Pie ($55), a Neapolitan pizza with a tomato base topped with mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. You can choose to add-ons other ingredients such as pepperoni, anchovies, onions, sweet peppers, mushrooms or olives at $5 each. Overall, this is a dining destination that is suitable for a date or an outing with friends or family as the portion size is suited for sharing. Though the price tag of a pizza might put off some, do note that the 18” pie comes with 8 slices of almost palm-sized pizza that will feed 2-3 pax comfortably. The restaurant also has a limited selection of appetizers, salads, pastas and desserts, including a good range of wines to pair alongside your pizza.

That's right, the famed pizzeria Lucali from Brooklyn is here in Singapore in a partnership between pizza guy Mark Iacono and Gibran Baydoun of BYGB Hospitality. Expect a variety of pastas, salads, and calzone on the menu. And of course, the Original 18″ Pie ($55), a classic with just tomato sauce, cheese, and basil - perfect with a bottle of wine while admiring the Kallang river.

Very expensive pizza here, at $55 for an 18-inch pie, and that's before additional toppings ($5 each) like pepperoni, mushrooms, and anchovies. Strong tomato flavour with nice large crust and chewy base. Solid pizza but not too life-changing. Great vibes though, as you're overlooking the Kallang River.
