Had coffee and cake here after our lunch and was pleasantly delighted with the dark chocolate cheesecake. The coffee is decent too.

I always get this whenever I am at Lunar coffee not because the rest aren't as delicious; they are. It's just that the miso salmon soba stands out way too much and I feel like I can't make a visit there without ordering it. Even the condiments such as ginger and mushrooms went so well with the soba. If the salmon was a little more tender it would be a dish that gets really close to perfection. Best part is that there isn't any service charge too and the ambience is great for a catch up during lunch.

Lunar Coffee Brewers has changed up their menu a little - in addition to some new food items, they’ve got two new tea macchiatos. The original Black Tea Eclipse is now joined by the Jasmine Oolong Eclipse and Cacao Tea Eclipse, all of which go for $7 a cup.

The friendly staff recommended trying the Jasmine Oolong Eclipse, so we went for that. Unlike the original black tea macchiato, the jasmine Oolong does not carry such a strong taste or impart any bitter aftertaste. It’s a light, floral tea which is sweet on its own, but combine that with the creamy and slightly salty macchiato foam, and you’ve got a luxuriously smooth and addictive beverage. I actually prefer this over the Black Tea Eclipse as it’s lighter on the tastebuds, yet still very refreshing.

*Lunar Coffee Brewers is GrabPay friendly!

Another cold brew offering from Lunar Coffee Brewers, but this is one for the real caffeine addicts. It’s nothing like the sweet and inviting Milky Way for amateur coffee drinkers. The Cosmos is hard hitting and a real wake up call.

I love the aroma of The Cosmos. It’s extremely fragrant, nutty and somewhat chocolatey? I expected something less strong because of the aroma, but the first sip hit me so damn hard. It’s bitter and strong, but really perfect for getting you awake and ready to take on the work day. I might not order it for a relaxing drink at a cafe, but it’d be my pick if I needed something to wake me up!

Two days after my awesome experience at Lunar Coffee Brewers and I can still enjoy this awesome cold brew (although it’s advised that you drink the milk-based drinks the day after). Not cheap at the $7 price tag, but a great way to make yourself happy at work :)

Still dreaming about the delicious roasted aroma and nuttiness of this coffee with minimal acidity!

For a healthier and lighter meal option, the salmon-centric soba bowl is the way to go. A perfectly poached salmon topped with melted miso nori butter, furikake onsen egg, shimeji mushroom and wakame served atop a soba base is a perfect combination in my books. Probably the only thing I’d remove from the bowl is the pickled ginger as I’m not a fan of it, but this time I just left it on the side of the bowl after trying a slice - still not sold on the taste.

I usually shy away from ordering salmon because it’s so easy to under or over cook it. Thankfully, that’s not a concern here at Lunar Coffee Roasters. The salmon flesh is tender and gives easily. They’re also generous with the salmon portion. I was pleasantly surprised by the miso nori butter, as I’d originally planned to scrape that off and discard it. However, the savoury butter went well slathered on top of the salmon.

The shimeji mushroom and wakame mix was seasoned really well too. And I loved the soba noodles on their own as well. Usually I don’t mix the onsen egg into the noodles, but I gave in and tried halfway through. It’s a different taste experience once the soba strands are coated in the yolk. Everything comes together harmoniously, creating a blend of complementary flavours in your mouth. I’d recommend mixing the yolk for this bowl even though I don’t usually do so, because the elevation in taste is incredible. $14.90 is reasonable given the salmon portion and the cafe’s location in the CBD. Would love to have this again when I’m at Lunar Coffer Brewers!
