always a long queue during lunch, evidently i’m not the only one who likes this stall. Two main noodle options - the pork belly or the honey glazed bbq char siew.
I have tried both, and while i inherently prefer pork belly, the char siew is memorable too. i love the noodles because i’m a carbs person and it is just the right amount of savoury, but the meat (regardless if you get the pork belly or the char siew) is the star of the show here.
run by youngish hawkers, you can tell they take pride in their craft. i’m vaguely aware they sell some low calorie bread and cake options too but damn, the noodles are really good
Honey Glazed BBQ Noodle ($5, +$1 - Onsen Egg)
No long time to see their booth after covid, so I decided to try their new latest menu since last year. I ordered their bbq char siew noodle w onsen egg but then it's quite average for me. I didn't added spicy flavour into the noodle as the weather was quite hot. I felt that their bbq char siew got a lot of "fats" and not full for me tbh. The tossed noodle was just nice al dente texture for me but I doubt myself that I was not going back.
Can’t get enough of Lye Bo’s revamped menu - I always have any of their dishes at least once a week lol. Latest addition to their menu is their noodles top with this big piece of pan fried pork belly. Melt-in-your-mouth goodness for the fat portion (mind the cholesterol), with the surprisingly really soft meat as well!
Onsen and noodles are 👌🏻

So happy that Lye Bo is back with ~good~ food 🥹 they have stopped selling roast pork last Feb’22 and rebranded with a healthier menu. Wasn’t a big fan of that but their new menu (I think updated very recently) is something I would support again (similar to how I have been ordering roast pork from them at least once a week previously lol)!
The noodles is the highlight of the whole dish. Springy, flavourful, and very similar texture to ramen noodles (so maybe they used wheat noodles? Lol not sure, update this when I’ve asked them!)
The honey glazed bbq is also good, slightly tough but tastes well. Lard has a good crunch though less saltier than usual. Adding onsen egg boosts the overall dish, giving additional taste to the noodles while enveloping it

Now they're a western-ish stall with beef brisket and pork ribs and wtv
My go-to stall in Alexandra Food Village for 4-5 years now.
These two orders - Crispy Pork Belly Noodle ($4) and Crispy Pork Belly on Rice ($3.50) - are my usuals (I order and eat both in one meal lol, big eater). The roast meat is always served with crispy skin and on good days, with a good skin-fat-meat ratio. Taste is good though leaning on the salty side at times. As for the noodles, it’s cooked al dente with perfect seasoning. Their sauce is notable too - salty and spicy!
(Second photo) there’s a note that they’ll be discontinuing service of current menu on 27th Feb (so last day tmr to try if haven’t yet!), and will be back with a low carb menu in April.
