Mad For Garlic

Mad for Garlic is Korea’s first garlic-themed Italian restaurant. The unique concept made its debut in 2001 through Mad for Garlic’s first restaurant in Apgujeong-dong, an affluent entertainment and residential district in southern Seoul. With its unique and innovative menu with garlic-specialized Italian cuisine and an excellent selection of wines, Mad for Garlic soon became one of Korea's most popular restaurant chains. Rather than having a central kitchen system, at Mad for Garlic, the entire cooking process starts with raw materials in the kitchen of each branch to bring fresh food to the table. In 2013, Mad for Garlic was voted by Korea Times and Korea Herald as the Best Performing Italian Restaurant concept in Korea. Currently, there are 40 branches in Korea, two branches in Hong Kong and one in Singapore.

Grilled chicken and mushroom risotto ($25) a must have - risotto not overcooked, general serving of mushroom. The kale was added for good measure. Good dish in general.
.
Sizzling garlic rice ($23) also very flavourful, and the fish roe added a delightful crunch. Thoroughly enjoyed both dishes. Not my first time here. Can't really go wrong with this place. The only thing is that they are quite understaffed, so you may need to wait to bit to be seated and/or served. They also only provide bottled watter ($1 per bottle Dasani), no complimentary tap water.

Had the Burpple Beyond 1 for 1 pasta and the Garlic steak. Just take a look at it, the amount of garlic used was sheer madness! It will definitely please all garlic lovers out there. Their Ragu and Seafood pasta (not in the photo) was top notch as well.

Definitely coming back again. Remember how we loved our steak!

Was psyched for the garlic snowing pizza but I felt it was overrated. Crust was too thin, not shiok enough. The garlic carbonara pasta was better. Fav dish was the garlic apple crumble, surprisingly!

Beef steak cubes were tasty! Pasta tasted similar to bolognese but much less tomato taste. The minced pork and beef added lots of flavour to the whole pasta dish.

If you have no idea what to eat here, going for this pizza can't go wrong. My partner was too eager to eat before I took the picture as you can see:)

Loved the garlic sizzling rice ($25)! It's flavourful and the fish roe added a nice crunch to it. Garlic isnt overpowering either. They were very generous with the mushrooms in the risotto ($25), and the chicken is tender and juicy as well. Would recommend these two dishes. They only serve bottled water, so we got a Yuja ade ($7) to go with our meal. The soda is refillable though.
Used burpple beyond 1-1, but unsure if I'd pay full price to dine here.
