Nice flavour unlike some places we tried in the past! π€« Assam laksa has no canned fish flavour and we can taste tamarind in the Assam soup base.π
Full fragrant CKT with generous portion of prawn, squid & chicken! Served with chilli fish sauce π
Finally we managed to get the seat at Madam Kwanβs at Suria KLCC. They are est. since 1977. Our KL trip wonβt be completed without a visit at least once here.π€
The place to go for true blue Malaysian flavours, stalwart Malaysian brand Madam Kwan doles out a foolproof Nasi Lemak (from RM20). This extravagant version comes brimming with aromatic coconut rice, delicious chicken curry and yummy sides like dried shrimp floss and zesty achar. This, spacious seating and air-conditioning? Worth. Every. Cent.

Let me be honest here, I'm not a fan of rojak, specifically the Chinese kind of rojak, complete with fruits and sweet sauce. You won't catch me ordering a plate or Chinese rojak here in Singapore.
However, when I was reading the menu in Madam Kwan's while in KL, the dish "Softshell Crab Rojak" somehow called out to me.
So, I ordered the dish. π₯
When the dish came, it looked really photogenic. I dug in and took a bite of the crab. It was crispy, light and nicely fried. ππ»
I then went for the fruits, I took what looked like an Apple cube and bit into it. Turns out it was a turnip! It tasted so sweet and juicy! The sauce was a good balance of sweet and salty that complimented the fruits nicely. Sedap! π
In the rojak there's Apple, Turnip, Cucumber, Tau Pok, Peanut and Rose Apple.
Overall, good appetiser and totally worth ordering! π
Looks really fantastic but fails on taste. The milky aftertaste wasn't great at all..
