Knowing that I'm a fan of Japanese cuisine, Mag surprised me with this starter. It's cold al dente soba in acidic ponzu sauce, topped with uni, totally unexpected from a wine bistro such as this. Yet it was good, and struck a chord with me.

It was first established in Circular Road back in 1996, but has relocated to its new location in the thriving precinct of Keong Saik Road.

I spent an evening there, as I enjoyed the honest, soulful cooking of Mag and her chefs, with dishes such as soba with uni, crab melon confit, mussels, pork belly confit, and this steak.

What's outstanding about this steak besides the juicy medium rare center and perfectly seared exterior, was the use of three different types of pepper on its crust. Spicy, bold, and very fragrant. Totally loved it.

We had a order of Charcuterie: Jamon Serrano, Air Dried Beef, Duck Rillettes to share and the portion was pretty generous.

The Pavlova Crumble with Raspberry Sorbet and Fresh Berries that comes with the set lunch is a love. The synergy of the sweet crumbles and slightly sour berries is brilliant, ending the meal on a refreshing note. ๐Ÿจ

I really love the vibes of the open concept kitchen, itโ€™s as though youโ€™re at someone elseโ€™s home kitchen. The chef literally cooks and prepare all dishes in front of you, and the smell simply so aromatic.

Boston Lobster Risotto served with asparagus with sage brown butter was simply yummy. The rice was cooked to my liking, mushy but could be a little more al dente. Lobster was cooked medium well, and everything was perfectly well balanced.
